LOST IN AN OLD LIBRARY

in Hive Book Club2 years ago (edited)

Hello Hive Book Club Community, I'm Teng. This is my first time posting on the Hive Book Club Community, hope everyone will enjoy it. Today I'm going to share with you about a library I go to often and how I choose to find my favorite books.

The library I visit often is called the "Light Library". It is located in the dormitory where I live, opposite the library is the student self-study area, so this area is quite quiet and very suitable for us to sit and ponder each page of a book. Every time I step into this place, my heart is very peaceful mixed with a little sadness. Is that a strange feeling?

The weather today is murky and peaceful to the point of scary, and in a few hours, Hue will receive a storm called NORU. According to news sites, this is the strongest storm in the past 20 years. I love the Central region of Vietnam very much, every year this place suffers a lot of loss due to the anger of nature, I hope Mother Nature will love the Central region for the storm to fade, but the Central region is already suffering.

Hope everyone is safe and sound.☘️

I took advantage of the time when the storm had not returned to buy back up food. Passing by, suddenly looked up at the library of old books. I suddenly realized that after the Covid-19 epidemic, I still have not come back here. Some force has pulled me here, maybe my soul is looking for peace.
Stepping into the library, I suddenly remembered the first time I walked in here. At that time, I was still a freshman with wet feet entering the university gate. Things don't seem to have changed much, it's still the same scent, the smell of old books. It seems that the owner here has just imported many new books. Many areas do not have space for books and they have to open a new room to arrange those piles of books.
The library is not large, but quite clean, the books are divided into clear sections and arranged on faded wooden shelves. Especially there is a corner for us to sit and read a book. Most of these are used books that are bought back from readers. I am a person who is very addicted to the smell of books, especially the smell of old books. So every time I come to this place, I usually stay until they close the library and then go back to my room.

(The book Les Misérables by Victor Hugo is translated into Vietnamese)

Does anyone like me? There were a lot of good books on display, but it was hard to find one that I wanted to read. Usually, when I go to the library, it takes me quite a while to find it.

After wandering around all afternoon, I finally found a book I liked. I sat in the corner of the chair where I used to sit to read it, and when I was about halfway through the book, it was time for them to close the library. I decided to buy that book to continue reading the pages I hadn't finished reading. It feels great to hold my favorite book in hand and return to my room.

It's interesting to be lost in that place. I'm looking for a book named "tiếng chim hót trong bụi mận gai". I have looked in some old book store but I haven't still found it. So please let me know if you happen to see it.
