Touch of Ownership

It has been a long day of yard work today, as I had nothing else important to do. I won't call it gardening, as it was just loading a trailer with all the cuttings and leaves we collected the other day, but there was one thing that wiped me out a bit. When we moved in here five years ago and started cutting back the jungle that was our garden, we had to collect a lot of loose bricks from around the place of various assortment in style, and we put them into a pile. As you can imagine, that pile has stayed there for a long time, but now with our plans going ahead, they had to be moved.

I had to move them.

I am not sure how many I moved, but there were many and they had been there so long, grass was growing over the top of them, and it was a cosy little home for about a zillion centipedes - and a lot of spiders. I hate spiders, but since living in Finland for a long time where none of them are deadly, I have softened a bit and no longer scream like a 1950s cartoon housewife at the sight of a mouse.

A guy who helps us out with odd jobs for some cash in hand work, brought his trailer around last night, and we will pay him to take it to the dump, where he will sort it into the appropriate piles for whatever they do with it. Some things they recycle, and the plant material they turn into mulch and soil and sell, but it is a pretty good service they run at these places. They aren't just random landfills at least.

I did about five hours straight of brick lifting and branch cutting and loading, and when my wife came home from work, the first thing she said was - there is a pile of stuff at the front still.

At least the guy that helps us gets paid.

But yes, I am pretty tired and was finishing up some tasks for some work tomorrow, but then remembered that it is Hive power-up day, so powered up another 500 HIVE, mostly because it is April Fool's Day, and I am a fool. I haven't been very regular with keeping up with the 1st of the month powerups, but instead just do when I can or want. I have bought some of late though, so hopefully things will one day turn around and these purchases will be worth significantly more than I paid.

10x would do nicely.

20x would be better.

But, it is going to be a while perhaps before things settle in the global economy enough for people to feel safe playing into the crypto markets to drive a strong bullrun. In an hour or two "Liberation Day" tariffs are going to be announced, so that is something to look forward to.

A little more crazy.

The average person has so little control over their financial lives because of government control and activity, that it is farcical. Even the wealthy are at the whims of government, although they can do more of what they want in their life, so it seems that they are freer. They aren't freer, they are just as controlled as the rest for the most part, but they earn so much that they can buy better cage conditions for themselves.

Ownership is key.

I wish that everyone would take a day to reflect on the importance of ownership, because I think that if people did, they would realise they need to wrest more control back into their own hands, rather than giving control over to the governments and various rent-seeking proxies. But, it is hard to do, because when we have the ability to decide for ourselves, we also own the results.

And talking of owning it - my body is saying get some fucking rest you idiot so I will leave it here, a little abruptly, and get into comments later. It is rare for me to listen to my body, but I am trying.

Did you remember to power up?
Do you own a slice more of the network?

Nearly drowned on my coffee XD

Ergh this does my head in. There have been several occasions over the years where I've very maturely gone on strike seeing as J was obviously completely failing to notice the amount of stuff that had been done and only hyperfocusing on the stuff that hadn't been done, and even more recently I have been occasionally forcing/delegating him (and the boys, because the girl does similar work and understands) to do stuff that they are very absolutely positive takes "a few minutes" to do. He's a lot better about it these days.

Men have to learn. Boys have to learn that when they are men, they have better chances of a good life, if they know how to take care of the housework.

At our old house we put in a new patio and I had to move a couple pallets worth of pavers that weighed about forty pounds a piece. It was some of the hardest work I have ever done I think. I feel your pain.

Yeah it sucks! But this wasn't the worst, as I am not even sore today and went to the gym. I have done some pretty crappy lifting work in my time! :D

I also powered up today, but a bit less. Everything that I had laying around, which was about 430 Hive :)

Not bad! Hopefully in six months from now, it will be worth 4x :)

Good on you for listening to your body..nobody knows it like you do!

sometimes I think it might speak a language I don't understand...

mostly because it is April Fool's Day, and I am a fool.

One fool is just a fool but many fools together may have a chance of changing the world. Like starting to use internet. I am sure that it seemed like a foolish idea when it was created. Now many people could not imagine their lives without it.

I also love powering up. Regardless if it is a bull or bear market. For now I just enjoy seeing my HP and HBD grow. My goal was to get 12k HP and 2k HBD by the end of 2025. It seems that I will easily reach HP goal so I will likely move to buying HBD.

Many fools are changing the world daily - they are called politicians.

2K HBD in savings is good goal.

I did power up, but just minumum minimorum, and I kept some liquid hive to send to bradleyarrow, as he needs some 2000 Hive for the VSC node. A little friendly loan.

How is the VSC going?

They are doing the nodes, finished testing it.

That's very nice of you, thanks for supporting your friend.

You know you could do all those homeworks because you own yourself, no one will call you to report to his office in the next ten minutes or so, and you are tired you can ask well rest because you own yourself, if everyone can try own themselves life will be a bit fair likewise the economy.

Weldon for the power up you are doing well.

How I see it is - it is my house, if something needs doing, that someone is me. I can't delegate much.

It's very nice, and also you have time to take care of it, sometimes there are some chores we would love to do ourselves but no time at all.

Weldon.

Moving bricks for hours would definitely be exhausting, tried it once and felt the arm almost cursing me. I also hate spiders, but at least Finnish ones are harmless so thank goodness.

Snakes are harmless here too. There are two kinds, one is poisonous - but it is barely poisonous.

woah even for barely poisonous, I'm not messing around with it haha

Your body is crying out for a good night's sleep lol.
Greetings.

maybe just crying....

I did about five hours straight of brick lifting and branch cutting and loading,

This is a long time to work non-stop, you must be very strong physically and have a lot of endurance

Nah - it just needed to be done.

I love my little garden. I turned it from a barren wasteland with 4 citrus trees into a blooming green paradise - with 4 citrus trees bearing more fruit than ever. I do have a gardener now, though, it's become just too much to take care of it all. Next thing that I have to do is straining (?) the compost. It's a thing to do every 3 months here, the decomposition rate is as high as the growing rate of plants, as long as there is water.

I didn't power up. I didn't even know that day existed. What is that about?

...and no longer scream like a 1950s cartoon housewife at the sight of a mouse...

!LOLZ got me rolling there. Did you get any rest?
