Exploring the place on the hill on foot, going to Jamblang Park is not the first time I have done this. This is our second trip here, and today we are smiling happily because the jamun fruit is very dense and the tree is ripe. It's fun, right? The distance is not far, it only takes 10 minutes to reach the top of the tree where it is located. However, even so it is quite sweaty and tired to get there.
We couldn't climb it, because the jamun fruit fruited on the tree. So it was not easy to pick it up, we took the initiative to just shake the tree trunk and those that were ripe and perfectly black would fall to the bottom. So underneath, don't forget we spread out a mat so that the fruit falls right onto the mat.
I was very enthusiastic to choose under this fruit tree, and without further ado immediately tasted it. The color is perfect black and very sweet, really delicious, I remember when I was in elementary school I used to eat jamblang.
Jamblang is a fruit that is almost similar to cherries, but in the area where I live this fruit is called Aceh grapes. At first glance, the color is moiip with black grapes. But the taste and texture have significant differences. Jamblang belongs to the water guava type, it's just that it has a unique shape and an interesting taste. Now in my own area there is a unique way to enjoy this fruit, namely by enjoying it as a side dish with the addition of soy sauce, sugar, salt and chili. However, this time I don't want it to be processed only with soy sauce, I want something different for jamblang fruit preparations.
Roasted peanuts are my main choice this time, and this is my main experiment, enjoying jamblang with the addition of candied coconut and roasted peanuts will be very enjoyable to enjoy during the day. Especially after hunting this fruit in the garden, very tiring. However, it pays off with the results you get. Very satisfied to find jamblang in the neighbor's garden the results are quite a lot. Although it requires special effort to get it. So, instead of being curious, let's prepare the ingredients and the execution to make it even more enjoyable!
Materials Needed
- 200 grams of jamun fruit
- 50 grams of peanuts
- 5 tablespoons of candied palm sugar
- 5 bird's eye chilies
- 1 tablespoon of salt
When making rujak jamblang, I usually choose perfectly ripe fruit, but because I harvested it yesterday it didn't all go together a lot of the fruit was still not perfectly ripe. Now, how to mark this fruit as evenly ripe by looking at the maximum black fruit or all parts of the skin are evenly black. I will show you the steps in processing this fruit to be delicious when enjoyed.
Step Create
Step 1
Wash the jamblang fruit, then select the jamblang fruit and separate the fruit that has been crushed or damaged.
Step 2
Roast the peanuts until cooked using medium heat in a pan.
Step 3
Peel the skin of the peanuts, by mashing half the nuts, try to mash gently so that it is easy to separate the skin from the nuts.
Step 4
After the peanuts are ready to be peeled, mix them in salt and chili then grind coarsely with a mortar or chopper.
Step 5
Mix the peanut sauce in a container containing jamblang.
Step 6
Then add candied palm sugar or liquid palm sugar, stir well. Correct the taste, if it's not quite right, you can add a little soy sauce.
Rujak Jamblang is ready to be enjoyed, serve and enjoy in the afternoon with your friends. It will be very exciting to eat together and enjoy the sweet, sour and nutty flavors that blend perfectly in this jamblang fruit seasoning mixture. So, for those of you who have this fruit in your country, make delicious preparations from jamblang fruit like I did. I even tried adding jamblang fruit to the cake on my first vegan vegan birthday a few months ago and shared it here. It's also very tasty, and it's even the first time I've done it to make jamblang into a cake. No less than cake, this preparation is also very delicious, I can even finish it in an instant in a bowl.
