Dust

Today I would like to discus dust, which is a term for rewards which fall below the payment thresh hold and result in lost rewards.
If you have never heard of DUST you will like both learning about the problem and learning abut the solution.

Define the problem called Dust

There is a minimum amount of either author or curation reward that a post or comment must earn for you to get paid. I didn’t know this when I started and wondered why my smallest rewards didn’t show up in my wallet after seven days. If your rewards earned are less then 0.020 you don’t get paid. Those rewards are called “dust”. That’s frustrating because that reward of 0.019 might be your first author reward, but it doesn’t get paid to you. Sadly all you need is 0.001 more to get paid.
Fortunately there is a solution called “dustsweeper”.

Define the solution to Dust called Dustsweeper

You get rid of dust rewards with a program called “dust sweeper”. “Dust sweeper” is a bot; A bot is an automatic computer program which performs a function or carries out a transaction. If you pay the “Dustsweeper” fee, the “dust sweeper” ”bot” checks each of your post author rewards, your curation rewards and your comment rewards on day # 6 and if any are less than 0.02 and it upvotes them enough to get paid. This eliminates the “dust rewards”. So now you get paid a little for each post you write or comment you make. And l think these small payments mean a lot when your new and if you are one of those people who makes 100-500 comments a day, this becomes astondingly important.
#

Explain how Dustsweeper works

You send Hive to Dustsweeper via a wallet transfer and put your name or the person you wish to gift Dustsweeper to in the Memo. The bot uses your money to upvote your posts at the dust reward level until it’s almost gone, then it messages you in your wallet to pay some more.
You might be thinking your just getting your own money back, but that’s not the whole story. The upvote is added on top of the existing upvote rewards which are less than 0.02. So yif your rewards are 0.019 you sepnd 0.001 to get 0.02 rewards, a 2000% return on investment. Remember you get your money plus the upvotes. Which is a net gain every time.

Why should you care about Dust?

  • Rewards or upvotes on comments are often dust, so 15 comments a day or 15 threads a day for a week is 100 comments / threads and times 0.19 is 19 Leo or 19 HIve.
  • So when you do the quick math you realize I am talking about real money, 19x52 weeks equals almost 800 Leo or 800 Hive and 800 Hive equals almost 4000 Leo.
Do I have your attention now?

Win a gift subscription to Dustsweeper

I have decided to give about 100 people the gift of Dustsweeper, and to get one you hsve to figure out how to publish on InLeo and the Bloom Community. This will cover close to 100 posts. Then after that if you think it’s worth it, you send one Hive every so often to sustain it.

Your welcome, the reward for engagement is more rewards and more knowlege, which retuns more rewards

That's the perfect loop 😊

Yes. Try it with 1-2 Hive and just write down the hive amount on every comment dustsweeper votes on until dustsweeper contacts you to send another one hive, then compare them.

delegate to dustbunny...

Send 1-2 Hive via wallet memo and @dustbunny does the rest.
If you want to delegate, please consider delegating 100 Hive to @cutecurator the account upvoting posts on #bloom community, which supports new accounts by promoting a focus on comments, upvoites, tweets and networking as a path to earning and discovery.
