🇪🇸 ~ Entre año nuevo (occidental, 31 de Diciembre) y mediados de enero recibí estos regalos absolutamente sorprendentes:
Son artículos originales alusivos a la opera y el teatro chinos y yo... yo estoy tan asombrada de esto esté en mis manos.
Un amigo coleccionista durante una reunión recibió uno de estos separadores de libro, y como yo soy "la chica loca de los gatos que le gusta el anime y las cosas chinas", se le ocurrió que yo apreciaría este pequeño tesoro más que el.
Lo que el no sabía es que casi me provoca un infarto (de hecho grité cuando vi ese separador de libro y el se asustó bastante) 🤣 👌
🇺🇸 ~ Between New Year's (Western, December 31) and mid-January, I received these absolutely amazing gifts.
They are original items alluding to Chinese opera and theater and I? I am so amazed to have this in my hands.
A fellow collector was given one of these book dividers at a convention, and since I am "the crazy cat girl who likes anime and Chinese stuff", it occurred to him that I would appreciate this little treasure more than he would.
What he didn't know is that it almost gave me a heart attack (I actually screamed when I saw the bookmark and he was pretty freaked out) 🤣 👌

Algo que no muchas personas saben de mi es que me gusta muchísimo el teatro oriental, el teatro "kabuki" y "no" japonés fué lo primero que pude conocer gracias a unos revistas que obsequiaban en la Embajada Japonesa de Venezuela, pero cuando conocí la opera china, eso es otro nivel de refinamiento... simplemente me obsesioné y su estética me conmueve hasta los huesos.
Something that not many people know about me is that I love oriental theater, the "Kabuki" and "no" Japanese theater was the first thing I got to know thanks to some magazines that were given away at the Japanese Embassy in Venezuela, but when I met Chinese opera, that's another level of refinement... I was simply obsessed, and its aesthetics move me to the bone.
AHORA LA INFORMACIÓN INTERESANTE: La historia de estos marca libros es que proceden de una colección de 4 diseños diferentes, correspondientes a los 4 roles principales de la opera china (el Sheng, el Dan, el Jing y el Chou), y son "souvenirs" entregados por la empresa Pumpliner a un técnico de la industria petrolera Venezolana durante una reunión ejecutiva en el año 2007.
NOW FOR THE INTERESTING INFORMATION: The story of these bookmarks is that they come from a collection of 4 different designs, corresponding to the 4 main roles of Chinese opera (the Sheng, the Dan, the Jing and the Chou), and were "souvenirs" given by the company Pumpliner to a Venezuelan oil industry technician during an executive meeting in 2007.
El amigo que me obsequió el primer marcador de libros no pensó que yo me conmovería tanto por este obsequio, y desde entonces esta buscando la manera de completar el set, planeo esperar un tiempo para poder enmarcarlos; de hecho en su ultima visita me obsequió el segundo marca libros y estas pequeñas mascaras que veras a continuación (y sí, también grite y me volvi un poco loca) 🙂
The friend who gave me the first bookmark did not think that I would be so moved by this gift, and since then he has been looking for a way to complete the set, I plan to wait a while before framing them; in fact, on his last visit he gave me the second bookmark and these little masks that you will see below (and yes, I also screamed and went a little crazy) 🙂

Estas máscaras tienen una historia no tan rebuscada pero sí el mismo origen: El mismo señor técnico en petróleos que obsequió el set de separadores, también viajo mucho por el mundo (la única vez que visite su casa, amigo, sus álbumes de viaje son impresionantes y tienen una gran colección de arte) también obsequió estas mascaras a mi amigo, y mi amigo me las heredo tempranamente a mi; en el reverso dicen provenir del Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, así que esta persona seguro los compró como recuerdo durante uno de sus viajes de negocio en los años 90s.
These masks have a not so far-fetched story but the same origin: The same oil technician who gave the set of separators, also traveled a lot around the world (the only time I visited his house, my friend, his travel albums are impressive and have a great collection of art) also gave these masks to my friend, and my friend inherited them early on to me; on the back they say they come from the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, so this person probably bought them as a souvenir during one of his business trips in the 90s.
Son absolutamente preciosas y me siento tan afortunada de poder sostenerlas en mis manos. He buscado por internet y en Etsy hay re-vendedores de este tipo de mascaras en miniatura, pero no he conseguido unas exactamente iguales... so, este es el inicio de una colección de pequeños y preciosos objetos, alusivos al teatro y la opera china. Espero poder nutrirla con cariño y aunque no complete estos sets, estaré buscando otros elementos del mismo origen, se verán espectacular enmarcados en mi pared 😭 💖
They are absolutely precious and I feel so lucky to hold them in my hands... I've searched the Internet and on Etsy there are resellers of this kind of miniature masks, but I don't have the exact same ones... so, this is the beginning of a collection of small and precious objects alluding to Chinese theater and opera. I hope to nurture it with love and even if I don't complete these sets, I will look for other items of the same origin, they will look spectacular framed on my wall 😭 💖

Yo conoci el "kabuki" a traves de un anime que lleva el mismo nombre, me parecio un arte muy bonito y elegante, me encanta la vestimenta y el maquillaje, sin dudas el oriente tiene culturas y artes muy interesantes ❤️
