Yes, its a sad news for the Indian Cine industry but the songs she sang in 1970's are considered evergreen. Many of us were not even borne when she became a successful singer. She was borne in 1929. Her most iconic song was sang in 1962 when then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was full of tears listening to her song. It was dedicated to the martyrs of 1962 war between India and China.

Its a Sad News. She was a global personality. Wherever we meet Indians, we hear two names of Indians Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar. I think this must be a big loss for the Indian fans. All across the country I am sure there would be melodies sang today.
