The other week I was at Costco with my brother, his wife and son. Whenever I go to Costco I always end up spending half a day there. Their stores are massive, it's always full of people, they have loads of products to browse, and the trollies are hugh, making it very difficult to push around. All this makes it impossible to nip in and out of the store quickly.
The way Costco operates basically forces you to buy more than you need at a lower price than you would normally pay. My sister in law spent ages looking at some dishwasher tablets for her son who lives alone. They were sold in packs of two and I think each pack had over 100. The price for the double pack was a little more than a single pack price from the supermarket. There was a discussion amongst my brother's family about whether his son should get the double pack.
"They are very cheap per tablet, pretty much half price"
"But the diswasher is only used a couple times a week, it will take a good few years to go through them all"
"Dishwasher tablets stores forever, they won't go bad", someone said
"Storage might be an issue, there isn't much space in the flat" someone else said
I loitered around for a few moments, watching the should we, shouldn't we. Eventually I chipped in, because at this rate we'd walk into Costco in 2024 and come out in 2025.
"It's really good value, and you'll always need them, so that makes them inflation prove. They will only go up in price." I said.
I hoped that would steer them towards a decision. Nope, the discussion continued 😂
I decided to let them continue and wandered off to browse other stuff. The next aisle was spirits and liqueur. Nice!! Browsing bottles is more interesting than household cleaning products.
There's something very soothing about uniformity. Very comforting to see many of the same together. Living in the same box, stacked up high. Like an army of soldiers. They make you feel safe.
The ones in the front row always put on their best behaviour. They all make sure they're smiling nicely to passer bys. "Hello, I hope you're having a good day."
Occasionally there'll be an outliner. The one who stepped out of place or wandered off somewhere.
Some marketing guy at Netflix must have thought it would be a genius idea to do a cross over between Squid Game and Johnny Walker. If your risking you're life to win mega bucks, the last thing in your mind is a drink. Or maybe if you're killed off, you need to come find your own number and drink your sorrows.
I got to the end of the aisle and found my bottle. Yeah!
Dry Gin, that is not how you spell dishwasher tablets 😆
I'm sure you can use all that to clean the kitchen 😁
You'll need headache tablets if you drink all that, because the least you'll be doing is washing dishes that day. 😅 A Frenchified pain.
Perfect excuse not to do any be housework, don't you think it's a genius idea 😁
Wow that's a lot of liqueur! 😅
So the question is.. did she buy the dishwasher tablets?
I forgot to check afterwards, everything was a bit fuzzy after I saw my bottle...
Hot damn! Did you buy the giant belvedere for real? And if so, how much did it cost?! I laughed at your part about the safe feeling of the uniform bottles aligning with the picture of what I believe is Hennesey— in Cleveland, Ohio where I am from, nothing but trouble occurs when Henny is involved 🤣
As for the dishwasher tabs, I hope after all the hub bub they were purchased? I once bought all of my cleaning supplies from costco and didn't have to buy trash bags or dish soap for nearly two years! I think it actually saves even more money because then you do not go to the store just for sponges later on and leave with a 50$ cart of other stuff ever haha!
That's what you'd think, but then when I go to the supermarket for some milk or fresh veggies, I still end up with other random stuff 🥴
Washing up liquid or dish soap as you guys call it is a great buy. I get the 5 gallon bucket from Costco, because when I buy the expensive ones that says you only need to squeeze a few drops, I still squeeze loads,so I figured I'm better off buying cheaper ones and have fun squeezing.
I don't know if this is a lot cheaper, I'd hope so, it's very heavy!!
Don't know why you say this is at Costco... 🤷♀️ did you have too much Smirnoff maybe?
Clearly, this is a collector's place with so many bottles nicely organized and Belvedere is Gulliver's bottle in Lilliput.
😁
Shhhhhh .... Don't tell anyone 🤫
最后那瓶 看起来很漂亮😊
伏特加喝完後,磨砂玻璃瓶做家居裝飾也很不錯!
👍👍学到了!哈哈,真的挺不错的!
I have heard of Costco, actually have one in my town, I always thought they were for bulk buying businesses, time to get up get dressed and stock up on
Dishwasher tablets
woohoo
Don't forget to the loo rolls, apparently a very popular buy!!
But seriously, a lot more of people join because their petrol is around 8-10p cheaper. If you drive back lot that's quite a saving
Costco is good for buying non-perishables in bulk and the savings age huge, but I try to avoid making those trips...however I'm running out of excuses. 🥴
I tend to find more excuses to go than not to go. Like I just renewed my membership in November, I need to go more to get my moneys worth
Yeah, there's a lot of saving to be made, just too many people for me. We shop monthly there, buy a pile of stuff which works out well as we have the room to store it. Saves a lot of money annually.

Costco trips always end with debates and distractions—spirits aisle for the win! 😂
That's a big bottle of vodka. 😂
We don't shop at costco but We started stocking up on stuff when it goes on sale way more than we used to. I buy like, 3-4 bags of 1kg coffee beans when they go on sale for $13 and we now have like 9-10 bags in the cupboard. But, we go through them relatively quickly and regular price is $28 so, worth it in my opinion. I haven't paid full price in at least 6 months.
I say they buy the inflation proof dishwasher tabs and store them in their sock drawer if they have to 😂
