Definitely!! Breathing is the first step, and of course, is very important. And it helps in every situation. The thing is that when you are driving, your attention needs to go to the cars, the street, the pedestrians, etc., so you are not relaxing your mind, let's say.
If you take this breathing, 2 minutes before going out to work, or when you arrive at home, you'll notice amazing results.
Anyway, the awareness of breathing is already a very good step towards meditation. :D
