I sent out a tweet asking what people thought the price of Hive would be in 5 or 6 years. It was not done in an effort to get people to throw out pricing per se but, rather, to think about where things will be in half a decade.
In this video I discuss some of the things that we will see in the next 6-8 months. Then we can exampolate that over the course of another 4 years or so.
Technology takes time to develop. We look at a company like Amazon, it was not an overnight success.

I didn’t realize project blank was still a thing. Glad to hear that. It’s hard to be patient with that and 3speak token launch because I know these are going to have a massive impact on our numbers. I focus on numbers because the network effect will lead to more development and investment, and variety, but we have such a sturdy foundation of development now, it’s beautiful to see.
It may take a long time for people to see it but when you talk about changing society, I think Hive has the potential to have a bigger impact than just about everything other than btc and eth.
I agree. Mostly because of the fast and free transactions. I mean free in the sense that there are no transaction fees. There are Resource Credits (RC), which recharges over time, just like the voting power.
Something that is overlooked by most. It is going to become evident in the years ahead.
Many blockchains are going to still have issues with transaction fees and them being too high. There is no way around it how they are structured.

There is also the fact that we have no boss or company. That means not everyone will take initiative, but the ones who do can go all in and have freedom to innovate however they like
With what the SpkNetwork is doing, both ETH and BTC could be transferred over on that network.
It will really change how both of them could operate.

Ha ha... I'm a bit jealous on the ones who've started playing Splinterlands at the right time and I feel too that I've missed the wagon, but there will be a next one. Nevertheless, Splinterlands is benefiting Hive and an incentive for others to build. Only a fool would be negative on Hive. I wished I'd listened to this before writing my Hive in a super cycle post... Definitely good points in here.

Splinterlands is just the first. I love it, but I have my gripes, like the artwork. It's ok but there are far more beautiful cards in other collections.
Now we're getting attention someone with serious capital can swoop in and develop something similar that is formulated to take to market, rather than the punch it to the floor and hold on for dear life method Splinterlands is having success with.
Every game going forward, blockchain or not, has a new bar to reach.

I think dCrops will be a significant draw to Hive, although I don’t think it will have the same energy as other things we see here.
I don’t know of a specific project to recommend but in a recent manic episode I stumbled across an idea I haven’t seen discussed here before that takes the play2earn model to new levels.
I think someday NFT gaming can earn more than just money. Using smart contracts, NFTs earned by playing could denote verification of achievement, making a fun farming game, an interest bearing account, that eventually confirms you’ve learned a degree of knowledge in a particular field or topic.
