I see you started your Excuse book πŸ˜‚ You are a good student!

And I also think the jelly will be fine. Do as you were planning. Take it out and remove the rotten part so it doesn't spread more. Even if it has no roots, the babies will take energy from the mother plant and will grow own roots soon. Then remove them.
