There are countries that are associated with a fairy tale. For me one of them is Morocco. This amazing state combines Eastern, Western and African colors, antiquity and modernity. In Morocco, you feel as if you are in a fairy tale. What is so amazing about this country?

Morocco is an African State. However, it has a very interesting location: between the European and African continents.Very few kilometers separate this country from Spain. Is that really Africa?- you may ask. Nevertheless, the Sahara Desert is located in the South of the country.

I was very impressed in Morocco that people here speak several languages: Arabic, French, Spanish, and English.

I want to start my story with a descriotion of Agadir, a resort town on the ocean. There are not a lot of attractions here. The city is interesting because in 1960 it was completely destroyed as a result of an earthquake, about 15 thousand people died there, and after that the city was rebuilt again.

Tourists come here to relax on the wonderful beaches and stay in nice hotels. From the embankment you can admire a very beautiful view of the bay and the port. Here you can buy freshly caught fish, and people will cook it right there in front of you. This place is especially famous for its sardines, but there is other seafood here.

The embankment itself looks very European, and somehow reminds me of French seaside towns.

But if you go a little further and can see camels. Wow! Right in the center of the city, and instantly you remember that you are in Africa. In the previous centuries, caravans with camels were traveling through the desert, but now camels are here just to impress tourists. And yes, I was impressed 'cos it is really exotic.

Modern buildings are interspersed with antiquity. It's also very colorful.

The local population is very proud of the Lubnan Mosque situated in Agadir. This mosque, as well as the whole city, was completely restored after the earthquake.

Tourists can't get inside it and we can only admire it from the outside. The architecture of this mosque is traditional for mosques in Morocco. The Moroccan minarets are interesting because they have a square shape, not a round one, as is usually the case with mosques.

I especially like this picture. I took this photo during one of my walks around the city.

The goat was standing and looking at the city. It seems to me that there is a lot of philosophy in this picture. Civilization and the animal seem to be opposed to each other.

I really liked Agadir,a town washed by the Atlantic Ocean but next time I will tell you about other, more interesting places in Morocco.
