I spent Friday evening walking along the boardwalk of Marina Bay, and it marked the perfect end to my week. It turned out to be one of the more peaceful and enjoyable walks I’ve had in a while. I’m simply amazed by the unique vibe this place exudes. Just gazing at the skyline of the Central Business District fills you with a sense of excitement, inspiring thoughts of achieving great things in the city.
It’s been quite some time since my last visit to the Marina Bay area, so I decided to check it out and take photos of parts I hadn’t explored before. One particular highlight of my visit was the incredible Apple Store.
Looking at the sleek glass structure, you can’t help but marvel at its design. Typically, buildings like this prominently display frames supporting the glass panels. However, this one cleverly conceals its frames, creating the illusion that the glass dome is made of a single seamless piece.
At one point, I found myself imagining that the glass dome resembled a giant fishbowl, with the people inside acting as the fish. Inside the dome, you can see landscaped areas and mini gardens, where some people sit on benches while others move around continuously. It genuinely felt like I was observing a fishbowl, except the "fish" were actually humans.
Initially, I was unsure whether to enter the store or simply take photos of the structure from the outside. Eventually, I decided to go inside and explore the latest gadgets they had on display. To my surprise, the structure appeared much smaller from the outside. However, once I entered, the shop felt grand and incredibly spacious. I suppose the building’s round shape creates the illusion of compactness when viewed from afar.
The interior of the store was a completely different experience. The staff were busy managing customers, engaging them with helpful talks, tips, and advice. They seemed to be doing an excellent job ensuring everyone had a pleasant experience.
There’s an escalator connecting the Apple Store to the Marina Bay shopping mall, and it’s amazing how they’ve created the illusion of entering a completely new place. It feels surreal to travel through this passage, knowing it is submerged underwater. The reflective surfaces used to finish the walls and ceiling enhance this feeling, making it seem like I’m stepping into the future. It’s absolutely awesome!
At the end of the escalator is a connecting passage where some items from the Apple Store are displayed. From there, I can also see the shopping mall area.
I stepped out and decided to continue exploring the boardwalk. There was still enough light to capture some great exterior shots of the Sands building. One particular shot stood out to me because of the red accent lighting along some of the building’s edges, which added a beautiful touch.
Marina Bay never fails to amaze me with its blend of modern architecture, scenic views, and vibrant energy. Every visit feels like a new adventure, offering fresh perspectives and unforgettable moments. It’s a place that truly inspires and reminds me of the endless possibilities the city holds.
Amazing shots! I am missing Singapore, need to go there again soon!
Which season would you recommend? I guess when there is less rain?
Thanks! Yes, the least rain is the best and that usually happens during months of January, Feb, & Mar.
The best is Feb as it's the month of Lunar New Year. But pls avoid visiting during the exact days of Lunar new year because flights are expensive and many of the shops/establishments will be closed, not fun 😅
Nice evening shots man. Love the one with the dome and the skyline.
Thanks 🙏 the lighting was okay last night.
