Me and my husband celebrated our New Year in Maldives. This is the place that top in our wish list. The dream place that we long to visit and explore. Now our dreams do come true. We visited the place last Dec.30, 2024. Our travel is quite long because we came from Dubai then we take a bus going to Abu Dhabi it takes 1 hour of travel. Our plane from Abu Dhabi to Maldives will fly at 1:30 in the early morning. The travel duration will take 4 hours and 35 minutes. We arrived in Male’ safe and sound. After we are done with the Immigration we change our money to Rufiyaa, but the best currency to use in Maldives is US dollars. As we went out to the airport I was amazed because just a few steps you were greeted by the sight of crystal blue water sparkling under the sun and all the speedboats are in front of you. The speedboat brought us to Maafushi Island, a 45 minutes ride, where our hotel was located. The water of the beach is a mesmerizing blend of blues, shifting from crystal to clear turquoise, the white sand is nature’s canvas, soft and powdery like silk beneath your feet. We did a lot of water activities in Maldives like parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking, tube ride, big game fishing and the famous swimming and snorkeling with the sharks. My husband was brave enough to swim with those sharks. I was very happy to see my husband enjoying with the sharks while having pictures with them. He said it was all worth it. Good day hivers! Dropping my entry for #aroundtheworld challenge.
