WAITING FOR THE FERRY

in TravelFeed4 years ago

Time for a travel shortcut!

Yesterday we took a trip north for an appointment and to take care of some business. On the way back, we basically had three options for our travel route. We could drive around the East side of the lake, drive around the West side of the lake, or cut across the middle of the lake on the ferry. Since we were basically just North of the center of the lake, we option for the ferry. Since the ferry runs on a schedule and there is some wait time depending on when you arrive, we paused for a minute to enjoy the scenery and do some exploration. Here are some photos from our wait. Enjoy!

I've always liked riding on ferries, although I haven't done it very often. When I was quite young, there was still a ferry crossing the Columbia River, possibly at Roosevelt. It was at least 50 years ago, so I'm not sure. I just remember it seemed rather small and rickety, and I had doubts about its ability to carry us and our car across that deep, wide river.

Without a doubt the best option was to wait for the ferry, to enjoy the great view.
