The Step Pyramid of Zoser is the most important construction in the Saqqara funerary complex on the outskirts of ancient Memphis. It is the tomb of the pharaoh Zoser and took about 60 years to build during the 22nd century BC, so it is now about 4,200 years old. The construction of this impressive monument completely changed the concept of the Pharaonic tomb, being the first of a long series of pyramids that took this tomb of Zoser as a reference.
