Today, we're returning to the world of stickers and collages thanks to a couple of artists from Ottawa and Toronto who were in Montreal just before the beginning of winter. This post is about Ty Pro and his favorite character the Sailor Dude. And the next post will be about Urban Ninja (on the right in the photo below) and Srats (on the left with the little rat). It's always cool when these artists come to town, leaving a few of their creations behind.
Aujourd'hui, nous retournons dans le monde des stickers et des collages grâce à quelques artistes venant d'Ottawa ou Toronto qui furent de passage sur Montréal juste avant le début de cet hiver. Ce post va parler de Ty Pro et de son personnage préférée The Sailor Dude. Et le prochain post, il s'agira de Urban Ninja (à droite sur la photo ci-dessous) et Srats (à gauche avec le petit rat). C'est toujours cool quand ces artistes font un tour en ville, il laisse quelques-unes de leur création.

The first series on the first pic was on the corner of Saint Laurent Boulevard and Sherbrook Street in Montreal. When these artists come to Montreal, it's often boulevard Saint Laurent and Graffiti Alley next door that get their share of stickers.
La première série se trouvait au coin du boulevard Saint Laurent et de la rue Sherbrook à Montréal. Quand ces artistes viennent à Montréal, c'est souvent le boulevard Saint Laurent et la Graffiti Alley qui se trouve juste à côté qui ont le droit à avoir leur lot d'autocollants.

Ty Pro
This isn't the first post on Ty Pro aka TRP as he often comes to Montreal. As a reminder, he's an Ottawa-based artist known for his stickers featuring his favorite character, a red-bearded bearded man aka The Sailor Dude (SD). I like this “pool head” 😀.
Ce n'est pas le premier post sur Ty Pro aka TRP car il vient souvent à Montréal. Pour rappel, c'est un artiste basé à Ottawa que le connais pour ses autocollants avec son personnage favori, un barbu roux aka The Sailor Dude (SD). J'aime bien cette "tête piscine" 😀.
Ty Pro often makes collaborations by mixing his character, as in the photo on the left with Planet Selfie. But what I particularly like, and it makes me smile, is SD's takeover of famous logos. The Wendy's logo (a fast-food hamburger chain in North America) is a really good one, better than the original 😀.
Ty Pro réalise souvent des collaborations en mélangeant son personnage comme c'est le cas sur la photo de gauche avec Planet Selfie. Mais ce que j'aime particulièrement, cela me fait sourire, c'est la reprise de logo célèbre par SD. Vraiment bien réussi celui de Wendy's (une chaine de fast-food hamburger en Amérique du Nord), mieux que l'original.
The Sailor Dude's face can be found in various postures. But also all the body, as on this no-parking sign on Avenue des Pins. I liked his position with the Granny of the Main (nickname for Saint Laurent boulevard aka The Main) in the background, redone during the Mural Festival 2023 by Projet Tyxna, see CCC's Street Art Contest #151 to admire this superb mural.
On peut retrouver le visage du Sailor Dude dans différentes postures. Mais aussi en entier comme sur ce panneau de stationnement interdit sur l'Avenue des Pins. J'aimais bien sa position avec en arrière plan la Mémé du Main (surnom du boulevard Saint Laurent The Main), refaite lors du Mural Festival 2023 par Projet Tyxna, voir CCC's Street Art Contest #151 pour admirer cette superbe murale.

I love stickers! On my last journey to Porto, I could capture a collection of them, that I want to share in a future post. But I must confess that i prefer the ones that you posted here from "Ty Pro"!
I'm always impressed by the creativity that can be found on such small pieces of paper. I'm curious to see what you found in Porto.
