We're back at the Legal Wall de Rouen in Montreal for the third time this September. I passed by mid-week, on Wednesday morning, and as is often the case, the weekend's works were a little tagged. But under this viaduct, the life of the works is very ephemeral. This is StreetArt.
Nous sommes de retour au Mur Légal de Rouen à Montréal pour la troisième pour ce mois de septembre. Je suis passé en milieu de semaine, le mercredi matin et comme c'est souvent le cas les oeuvres du weekend ont été un peu taguées. Mais sous ce viaduct la vie des oeuvres est très éphémère. C'est le StreetArt.

Quite a few unknowns to start our walk at the Legal Wall de Rouen, except for the height, where it's Pest with clean lettering. On the ground, however, I have no idea, although I like the style of the lettering on the left, with white letters and elements in primary colors. Original...
Pas mal d'inconnus pour commencer notre balade au Mur Légal de Rouen, sauf en hauteur où il s'agit de Pest avec des lettres bien propres. Par contre, au niveau du sol, aucune idée même si j'aime bien le style du lettrage sur la gauche avec les lettres en blanc et des éléments avec des couleurs primaires. Original...
Then the western scene (see StreetArt #723) was replaced by some flowers named “Burning Down” by Chrys. Right next to it, a beautiful butterfly was made by Lily Schwarzbaum with a message: “No one is illegal Open the borders.”
Ensuite la scène de western (voir StreetArt #723) a été remplacée par quelques fleurs nommées " Burning Down " de Chrys. Juste à côté, un très beau papillon a été fait par Lily Schwarzbaum avec un message : "Personne n'est illégal Ouvrez les frontières".
What follows is complicated to follow because of the superimposition of tags and works. Hermit is close to the style of Dante Caloia but I'm not sure at all.
La suite des choses est compliquée à suivre à cause de la superposition de tags et d'oeuvres. L'Hermite ressemble au style de Dante Caloia mais je n'en suis pas sûr du tout.
Next to it (on the right 🔼), the mouse was done by Valérie Delvoye, the first time I've come across one of her works. Claudia Guindon, a regular here, decided to "spruce up" the mouse's surroundings a bit. Nice addition.
A côté (sur la droite 🔼), la souris a été réalisée par Valérie Delvoye, première fois que je découvre une de ses oeuvres. Claudia Guindon, une habituée des lieux, a décidé de fleurir un peu l'environnement de la souris. Bel ajout.
In the center is Mi Viejito by Gustavo Alarcón with an owl by Claudia Guindon on the right. On the left, however, with the blue background of a dog walking its master, no idea of the artist despite the signature.
Au centre, on retrouve le Viejito de Gustavo Alarcón avec sur la droite un hibou de Claudia Guindon. Par contre, sur la gauche avec le fond bleu, d'un chien baladant son maitre, aucune idée sur l'artiste malgré la signature.
This time, SlamBoy didn't leave any trash behind. / FR : Cette fois, SlamBoy n'a oublié aucune poubelle 😀.
We cross the rue de Rouen to find the superb lettering of Astro again. It's cool to see when an artist puts up a quality work, it's not immediately tagged or covered over. There's a kind of rule that this lettering has the right to stay a little longer. And so much the better 😀.
Nous traversons la rue de Rouen pour retrouver encore le superbe lettrage de Astro. C'est cool de voir quand un artiste pose une oeuvre de qualité, elle n'est pas taguée ou recouverte de suite. Il y a comme une sorte de rêgle que ce lettrage a le droit de rester un peu plus longtemps. Et tant mieux 😀.
I couldn't always find out who did the superb lettering on the brown background. But at least it was easier to find the author of the circle with the recognizable style of Adida. The work is entitled Ugly is the new beautiful.

The stunning tribute to Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad done by Deps is also still there with equally superb lettering with this chain that completely piercing it, perhaps from Hermes.
Le superbe hommage à Harley Quinn dans Suicide Squad réalisé par Deps est aussi encore là avec à un lettrage tout aussi superbe avec cette chaine qui le transperce complétement, peut être de Hermes.
We end our stroll with another beautiful lettering by Julien, superb style. Perfect for a calligraphy lover like me 😀. I hope to see more lettering from this artist. On the left, this looks like Faciès.
Nous terminons notre balade avec un autre très beau lettrage de Julien, superbe style. Parfait pour un amateur de calligraphie comme moi 😀. J'espère voir d'autres lettrages de cet artiste. Sur la gauche, cela ressemble de Faciès.

Wow this street area is dope! I have such a struggle because most of the time I am out walking the streets it is already night time and the views are not nearly as sharp!
I really enjoyed the big ugly ball ha, and the touching message on the monarch butterfly is the logo for an organization that helps immigrants find their way and settle in their new countries.
I feel like conditions for this are way better in Europe. Here in the Brooklyn it is brutal how quickly things can get ruined by others, even for nonsense tags that take away from the piece.
The "nonsense tags" are also the norm in Montreal, but sometimes I don't know why some walls remain untouched. Sometimes this can be explained, but often it's a mystery 😀

I love this. The thing that so many different styles can go along so well together, shows how powerful art is!
