Every Monday, it's time for Weekly StreetArt, your weekly dose of Street Art. After a slightly quieter few weeks over the festive season, activity is picking up again in our community. It's great to be able to enjoy StreetArt from all over the world, because here in Montreal is in the "cold season".
Comme chaque lundi, voici venir le temps du Weekly StreetArt, votre dose de Street Art hebdomadaire. Après des semaines un peu plus calmes lors des Fêtes de fin d'année, l'activité reprend au sein de notre communauté. C'est cool de pouvoir apprécier du StreetArt provenant du monde entier car ici sur Montréal c'est la Saison Froide.
To illustrate this Weekly StreetArt, we're talking about a topical issue in Montreal. The mural of Michel Rabagliati, the famous author of the Paul comic strip series, was tagged last week. It's been making the rounds of the Montreal newpapers (see La Presse only in French) that graffiti has become increasingly prevalent since the COVID. Supposedly, there used to be a respect between muralists and graffiti artists. I think it's still there, although sometimes it's forgotten. But that's StreetArt, nothing lasts forever. I'll take a photo to show you the result.
Pour illustrer ce Weekly StreetArt, il s'agit d'un sujet d'actualité à Montréal. La murale de Michel Rabagliati, le fameux auteur de la série de bande dessinées Paul, a été tagguée la semaine dernière. Cela fait le tour des journaux de Montréal (voir La Presse) que les graffiti depuis la COVID étaient devenus de plus en plus présents. Avant soit-disant, il y a un Respect entre muralistes et grafitteurs. Je trouve qu'il est encore présent bien que parfois il est oublié. Mais c'est le StreetArt, rien n'est éternel. J'irai faire une photo pour vous montrer le résultat.

We start our selection in Spain thanks to @haastrecht who has come up with this superb wall with a character and lettering. The character seems to be the work of Nauni69. I like the little phrase Me Gusta El Graffiti... Pero las Lettras No ! ( I Like Graffiti... But Not the Letters !) I'm the opposite 😀.
Nous commençons la sélection en Espagne gràce à @haastrecht qui nous propose ce superbe mur avec personnage et lettrages. Le personnage semble être l'oeuvre de Nauni69. J'aime bien la petite phrase Me Gusta El Graffiti... Pero las Lettras No ! (J'aime les graffitis... mais pas les lettres !)! Moi c'est le contraire 😀.

Then we're off to Cuba to discover two works marked by the passage of time. But still interesting to look at, especially the first with its enigmatic figure in the middle. Too bad we don't know the artist behind it. Many thanks to @geyler13 for the photos and welcome again to the StreetArt community.
Puis nous allons à Cuba pour découvrir deux oeuvres marquées par le passage du temps. Mais toujours intéressante à regarder surtout la première avec ce personnage enigmatique au milieu. Dommage qu'on ne connait pas l'artiste qui se cache derriêre cette réalisation. Un gros merci à @geyler13 pour les photos et encore bienvenu dans la communauté StreetArt.

And we end this Weekly StreetArt in Venezuela with this beautiful and colorful lion photographed by @mariafrancesita, well rather by her husband @starwarm 😀. This piece was created by Delaroca, a local artist and tattoo artist. I like it when the mural is signed, much more to discover the artist 😀.
Et nous terminons ce Weekly StreetArt au Venezuela avec ce magnifique et coloré lion photographié par @mariafrancesita, enfin plutôt par son mari @starwarm 😀. Cette oeuvre a été réalisée par Delaroca, une artiste et tatoueuse de la ville. J'aime quand la murale est signée, beaucoup plus pour découvrir l'artiste 😀.

Grats to the winners this week. It is all southern hemisphere as you noted. Nice to see some streets with out the gray/black street snow of winter 🤦
I don't think Montreal's streets are any worse than they used to be... it's never been a “clean city”, there's plenty of life 😀
