The termites took down it's mother
This morning went in vein - we had to rescue whatever is left. The maid suspected some termites are there, after seeing soil like thing on the floor and called me. I tried to knock the place and it sounded hollow. So I lifted a part of the plywood to see what's inside and what came up inside was scary.
See them inside ? They did not spare anything and ate out all. So I had to call my elder brother for the rescue operation. We took the mirror out and then removed the entire peace below.
And then had to bring the medicine (poison) and syringe - there is a big one for this purpose only. Usually, my brother does termite treatment in the timber factory regularly, little did he know, they will target the house.
Given that they have surfaced at one place, it's likely that, they will try to invade the entire area. So as a precaution, he applied the medicine at every corner.
These set ups were done almost a decade back - back then there were not much options. May be we need to explore better options now to replace these before they damage other valuable items. Surprisingly I see termites taking down all the interiors in my apartment as well. Recently someone who was staying in the 4th floor had left his door locked for 2-3 months and when they came back, nothing was left. They lost all their valuable items that even included their certificates. He had to run from pillar to post to get duplicates issued from concerned departments. It's so much of task.
Someone else also shared similar views - they did a full termite treatment - the guys charged them more than 20k - digging holes at every place in the house and then putting some medicines. 2-3 years down the line, its all in vein. I wonder, how the termites go up in the apartment. May be through the gap in bricks ? But its all plastered and the base is in concrete pillars. Quite frustrating loosing interiors worth lakhs and then the valuable items - the wife was crying like anything because they ate out their most memorable thing - the bridal collections and all the photo albums - they do not even have a digital back up.
It hurts to see the orphan draw...but at least it gave us the alarm.

Wow. I had no idea the termites are capable of such damage in the house... Sorry for all the valuable things you lost :(
They can eat everything seems, and you know, there will be a queen termite - the size of which would be like a big prawn. I found it only once in my life - fried in ghee and fed it to my Mom - the best cure for asthma. After that, she does not get very critical immediately - before that, she used to be very serious very quickly.
Oh really? I have asthma too. It´s ok when I live somewhere by the sea but when I am back to my Czech homeland (we are a landlocked country), it gets quite bad, epecially in autumn and winter when the air pollution is the highest. So I better start looking for some termites :) But I have no idea what a ghee is. A meal I suppose?
Edit: I just googled it out. It´s butter. Wow. Never heard of it.
Ghee and butter are different, we cook Ghee at home.

Use metal frames to avoid termites. Metal frameworks are not too expensive
The pain of losing something valuable is much greater than the pain of losing a loved one. Anyone who loses these precious papers or albums can feel this pain. If you don't take action against them, you will see that after a while nothing will be left.

ya, not an easy task though.
Termites are damaging every wooden thing.it need only few times. Quickly runing termites for damage.sure must protect valuable things.
