Education is the key to success, as many say. And there's no doubt about that. I don't discourage people from going to school to acquire new knowledge. It's a good thing, honestly. But then, you shouldn't be tied down to that alone.

I'm going to be talking from the little experience I have had so far so good in the country, Nigeria. I really don't know about other countries all over the globe, but I will be talking more about my country, Nigeria.

The way many people downgrade people who didn't pass through school is quite alarming and disheartening, honestly. They just feel like if you don't pass through school in life, you can never become something in life. They literally just have this belief that no good thing would come out of you.

Yes, education is good, no doubt about that. But what many don't seem to understand is that it's not everyone that has that head of pushing hard to acquire knowledge through school. Education is not for everybody. Not everyone has that head of going to school.

And that doesn't make any of them dull. They literally don't just have the head of pushing through the system for their own personal reasons, which are best known to them individually. Many of them don't really like being controlled, while some of them aren't just good at that, and there are also lots of reasons behind why many chose not to go to school.

But the only thing I believe in life is that we are all different and unique in our way. If education works for you, fine and good, it's a good thing. And if it doesn't, look for something you're good at, focus on doing it, and give your best to it.

Because what I've come to realize so far, so good lately is that many just go to school just because people are going and they don't want to turn out as the bad eggs before some people. So they literally just do it for the culture.

Personally, if you ask me, I will tell you for free that I literally don't see an effective impact of education in my country, Nigeria. To be very, very honest. Many people are just wasting time. They go to school for years and end up finishing without knowing what to do next after that long time of studying. If many of them diverted that time and energy into something else, I'm pretty sure they would come out as successful people.

They can't even use their own certificate to look for work. There are no job opportunities for lots of graduates. For you to see someone using his or her certificate to do something in the country of Nigeria, it's either the person is well connected or it's the help of God in the life of that person.

Seeing the struggle many of these students go through just to finish with flying colors sometimes disheartens me. Knowing fully well that they might not get to use that certificate in doing anything at the end of the day. Which is so heartbreaking, if you ask me.

You will see many first-class graduates who are taxi drivers, Uber drivers, bus conductors, Okada men, etc. These are people who gave it all into education and were expecting a better life for themselves at the end of the day. Should we then call the school scam? Because I really don't see the impact in the lives of the citizens of the country, if you ask me.

I just believe personally that everyone should try to look for their field of specialization they're good at and work on themselves if school doesn't work for them. Build yourself by acquiring new knowledge and skills on a daily basis. Learn new things all the days of your life. There are many successful people out there that didn't pass through school and ended up becoming successful.

The fact is, the most people who didn't even pass through school are people who have turned out quite successful in our current world all over the globe. You not passing through school doesn't make you a failure. Discover yourself and work on building yourself. Keep believing and grinding, and trust me when I say you'll be shocked at the results of your life at the end of the day.

If you can acquire knowledge through school, it's a good thing. But if you discover that it's really not your path, then discover what path is your path and then work through it. This is more common in the country of Nigeria. People just criticize you for not going through school. Which shouldn't be something that is common in society.

I really feel it should be addressed honestly, because the rate at which this thing is common is way too alarming. That's why I love the foreign countries. They don't just force you to do something because everyone is doing it. They always take the time to discover your field of specialization and help you build and perfect it by making your dream a reality.

I believe so much that this has had a way of helping them build lots of amazing sets of people who are quite good in their individual field. They help you discover and build you. Which should be something my country should adapt. Because at the end of the day, it's the life of that individual.

It doesn't make any sense to me when you keep pushing a child to become what you want for them and not what they want for themselves. Because if you keep deciding for them always, you'd end up killing their initial dreams, which means you end up making them not have any purpose at the end of the day. Because the difference is always clear when you do what you love doing the most. You will always do it with no stress attached and also a happy and clean mind.

And that's why it is more common among citizens of my country. You see many graduates who are done with school and don't even know what they want for themselves. Anywhere you push them, they go. They weren't prepared for life because nobody helped them become what they really wanted. Their dreams didn't come true.

Many of us wanted to become a doctor, lawyer, pilot, etc. while growing up. But then look at where many of us landed ourselves. Many are farmers, mechanics, etc.. Many studied agricultural science in school and ended up becoming bankers. How!!!?.

They are all just trying to fix themselves somewhere to survive. They are now being paid to help accomplish another person's version. I literally just hope there's a great change in the near future. I hope it never continues like this.

An impressive post

I am of the opinion and so I understood from my few years in the faculty of education.
Schooling is not directly proportional to being educated. Schooling is primarily for literacy. You can know how to read and write.
When we talk about education, it's in totality and is not about reading and writing. Education is about the mind, the way we think, approach things and all like normal human beings.

Needless to say that a lot of school leavers still misbehave, they can't adhere to simple instructions even moral soundness is lacking. That's an uneducated literate. Yet we can still have an educated illiterate. He might not know how to handle a pen but is educated.
Schooling can only be seen as a part of education

So our problem in Nigeria is not school problem. School is the scam, education is not a scam

Exactly
I agree with you
Thank you for sharing out your thoughts.
