Homemade Garri

Hi hivers, before I share the process of making Garri, let me first introduce myself.

Am @bela91 from southern part of Nigeria. Am the second born in the family of five, three female and two male. I love music, cooking and dancing (local dances). Am a hive learner and am glad to join lifestyle community.

Having make a brief introduction of myself, let get started on the Garri process(frying).

Requirements

  • Already pressed cassava
  • Shifter
  • Firewood
  • Garri spoon
  • Basin
  • Garri pot
  • Palm oil

Process

Place the basin in a balance free area, use the shifter and cover the basin. Cut in the pressed cassava into the shifter and begin to shift.

I will continue the process still I finish all the pressed cassava. This is how it will look like.

With the firewood, i set in the fire which will help me in frying the Garri, then I place the Garri pot, allow it to hot before frying.

Am now frying the Garri. This will take some time before I finish frying all the Garri.

Note: The process does not require too much fire so that it will not get burnt or have balls inside.

I continue frying stil the last pot where i make a different Garri to eat immediately. This type of Garri is different, it include more palm oil and pitch of salt. Is know as nsamsam.

This is the main Garri which will be consume in many ways.

Garri serves for many purposes in my locality such as drinking, swallow, eating raw.
