En este mes de inicio a clases decidí recaudar dinero y útiles escolares para hacer una donación a niños de escasos recursos.
A través de la Academia conseguí varias donaciones materiales y con contactos de Rep. Dominicana conseguí apoyo monetario para poder comprar lo necesario para armar unos kits básicos y poder hacer una buena donación.
Cuando tuve todo el dinero decidí viajar la ciudad de Maracaibo ya que he escuchado que tienen mejores precios y quería específicamente visitar una papelería que está en ''El Callejón de los pobres'' donde supuestamente tenían muy buenos precios.
Así que me levanté temprano, cociné el almuerzo y emprendí mi viaje. Traten de ignorar un poco lo despeinado que se ve mi pelo en estas fotos.

In this month I decided to raise money and school supplies to make a donation to underprivileged children.
Through the Academy I got several material donations and with contacts in the Dominican Republic I got monetary support to be able to buy what I needed to put together some basic kits and make a good donation.
When I had all the money I decided to travel to the city of Maracaibo since I have heard that they have better prices and I specifically wanted to visit a stationery store that is in ''El Callejón de los pobres'' where supposedly they had very good prices.
So I got up early, cooked lunch and set out on my journey. Try to ignore a little bit how messy my hair looks in these pictures.
En viaje nos detuvo la Guardia Nacional después de pasar el puente, comenzaron a pedir las cédulas, yo me asusté un poco pues la situación política sigue tensa y bueno, era primera vez que viajaba a Maracaibo desde las elecciones.
Decidí relajarme, actuar normal jaja y esperar a que me devolvieran la cédula.
El militar las regresó y continuamos nuestro viaje. La verdad no recordaba mucho a donde iba así que tuve que preguntar al chofer quién me indicó que me había pasado un poco de mi parada así que tenia que caminar unos cuantos metros de regreso.
Gracias a Dios el clima estaba fresco, podría soportar la caminata.
On the way we were stopped by the National Guard after passing the bridge, they started asking for our IDs, I got a little scared because the political situation is still tense and well, it was the first time I was traveling to Maracaibo since the elections.
I decided to relax, act normal haha and wait for them to give me back the ID cards.
The military returned them and we continued our trip. I didn't really remember where I was going so I had to ask the driver who told me that I had gone a bit too far from my stop so I had to walk a few meters back.
Thank God the weather was cool, I could handle the walk.

Al llegar caminé hacia donde me habían indicado y conseguí una tienda que me provocó conocer así que dejé mi bolso en la entrada y caminé al interior de la misma. En esta tienda vendían cosas de fiesta, útiles escolares, juguetes y muchas cosas más.
Aunque tenían mucha variedad no se adaptaban a mi presupuesto y no había exactamente lo que buscaba. Solo habían cuadernos, pega y lapices as que decidí salir y continuar con mi recorrido.
Después de mucho caminar y preguntar, conseguí la tienda que buscaba, pero en parte fue una decepción, ya que los precios eran elevados pues cobraban a tasa TODAY y esto era muy caro.
When I arrived I walked to where I was told to go and I found a store that made me want to visit, so I left my bag at the entrance and walked inside. In this store they sold party stuff, school supplies, toys and many other things.
Although they had a lot of variety they didn't fit my budget and there wasn't exactly what I was looking for. There were only notebooks, glue and pencils so I decided to leave and continue my tour.
After a lot of walking and asking around, I got the store I was looking for, but it was partly a disappointment, as the prices were high as they charged at TODAY rate and this was very expensive.

La verdad habían muchas personas pero yo solo compré los cuadernos, los precios no eran accesibles a mi presupuesto así que no podía comprar nada más porque no lograría lo que quería.
La tienda era una mesa en plena entrada con todos los útiles ahí. No es nada formal.
Pagué mis cuadernos y seguí caminando.
Para mi sorpresa, justo al lado había una tienda de 1$. No me iba a perder entrar así que pasé, dejé mis cosas en el área de paquetes y me adentré a la tienda.
Aquí pude comprar las cajas de lapices, cajas de creyones, unos bolsitos y una papelera para la academia.
The truth was there were many people but I only bought the notebooks, the prices were not affordable to my budget so I could not buy anything else because I would not get what I wanted.
The store was a table in the middle of the entrance with all the supplies there. It is not formal at all.
I paid for my notebooks and kept walking.
To my surprise, right next door was a $1 store. I wasn't going to miss going in so I walked past, dropped my stuff in the package area and walked into the store.
Here I was able to buy the boxes of pencils, boxes of crayons, some bags and a wastebasket for the academy.

Luego de comprar ahí, seguí caminando por la parte de detrás del centro. Ahí encontré varias tienditas pero ninguna tenía lo que buscaba.
Me faltaban los borradores, sacapuntas y los bolsos de niñas.
Casi terminando la calle entré a una tienda que también vendían todo a 1$. Cuando entré quise comprar todo porque tenían cosas muy bonitas de estilo navideño.
En la entrada justamente habían los bolsos para las niñas.
Escogí los bolsos, vi también sacapuntas los cuales traían unos borradores de flores muy lindos.
Aquí también vi un jarrón de plástico el cual pensé que serviría de papelera para la clase de Inglés así que lo compré.

After shopping there, I continued walking around the back of the center. There I found several little shops but none of them had what I was looking for.
I was missing erasers, pencil sharpeners and girls' bags.
Almost at the end of the street I entered a store that also sold everything for 1$. When I went in I wanted to buy everything because they had very nice Christmas style things.
At the entrance there were just the bags for the girls.
I picked out the bags, I also saw pencil sharpeners which had very cute flower erasers.
Here I also saw a plastic vase which I thought would serve as a wastebasket for the English class so I bought it.
