The Great Outdoors: Coco's Leash-Free Adventure

in Caturday29 days ago (edited)

Today, I learned that a bit of freedom can reveal just how loyal someone is, but sometimes it’s essential to step in and guide them back before they wander too far.

This experience also showed me how healing nature can be. It brings us closer and lifts our spirits, helping us appreciate the special bonds we share.

After a successful walk with Blu off-leash in the woods last week, I decided to try it with Coco earlier this evening. Knowing her sneaky ways and tendency to dart off for hours, I played it safe by carrying her into the woods before letting her explore.

To my surprise, Coco stayed right by my side as if she were still on a leash.

She walked with me even on the muddy path!

Bunting my leg as if she wants to wrap her tail around my leg with happiness.

When we added Blu to the mix, Coco's attitude changed. She used to make a lot of eye contact, and I hadn't noticed that until today; my heart melts. She communicates with her eyes since she can't meow.

Giving her a special time and attention by walking in the woods is helping her old self back.

We stayed for a little while in a peaceful spot.

She is more adventurous than Blu and I love to see her wild side without harming anything.

She enjoyed the freedom to climb trees.

And even found a perfect spot to sit and clean herself.

At one point, she discovered an area full of lively sounds—birds, mice, and all sorts of little creatures. Ever the hunter, Coco seemed mesmerized.

She chirped each time I tried to walk away, wanting to stay and listen to all the movement around her; she wanted me to stay with her.

She was enjoying the scenery up high.

On the way back, she followed me faithfully but seemed ready to slip off on her own once we neared familiar ground. I could tell she was planning her next little adventure!

Not wanting to lose her for hours, I scooped her up and carried her home, bringing our peaceful outing to a close before things got too wild. We returned home safe and connected, both feeling refreshed and happy.

I hope you had a good Caturday.
