For me, as a Czech, it is strange to read that in the "Pilsen" style you can smell and taste lemon. But I understand that it wasn't brewed in Pilsen and probably wasn't even used Žatec hops.

Yes, I'm sure that the style is much different here in North America than where it traditionally comes from. I've noticed a trend here in Canada lately to do a lot of German style beers and they aren't very similar to actual German beers that you would find in the Germany lol. In North America they basically just refer to a beers that use the lightest malt (base grains that are unroasted) as a Pilsner.
So we can actually write about the "new style" 'APil' - American Pils :-)
