Beer Photography: Polish beers that I tried in Krakow

in BEER4 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

I am really happy to come up with another contribution to @detlev´s popular initiative known as #BeerSaturday as my today´s post will be entirely dedicated to beer, the national drink of my Czech homeland. However, this time around, we will take a closer look at beers that are produced and consumed in Poland, the country of our northern neighbors.

As you might know from some of my older posts, I recently spent two weeks in Krakow and as a huge beer lover, I took advantage of this opportunity to taste some of the local beers. I didn´t take photos of all the beers that I had there but I did capture a few. Let me now share those shots with you.

Honestly, I had just very little experience with Polish beer before so I didn´t really know what to expect but actually, I was nicely surprised. All of the beers that I tried in Krakow were good and most of them was even somewhat similar to our Czech beers in taste.

However, as I mentioned in my last beer post dedicated to Czech microbreweries, although I really like beer, I not a beer gourmet per se so I am usually fine with pretty much any beer I am served :D In other words, just because I liked those beers, it doesn´t mean that you would like them too or that most people would consider them good :)

Also, those were just the typical "supermarket beers" that you can probably find everywhere in Poland but I know that the Poles make some fine, regional craft beers too so even beer gourmets can satisfy their needs if they know where to go ;)

What is your opinion on Polish beer, guys? Let me know in the comment section below, I am looking forward to checking out what you will have to say about it.

Cool post. Living in the UK we have a lot of Polish beers on offer as most areas now have a strong Polish presence. Of the ones you've shown I think Zywiec is my personal favourite as it has a sweetness to it. If you get a chance to try any more Polish beers I'd recommend Perla Miodowa (Honey) it is an amazing beer which I cannot praise highly enough.

Awesome, thanks for the tip, I will be on the lookout for it :) What is your Czech favorite btw?

What a good collection of beer that you present to us, to be honest they all have a good presentation
It is good that you have been in Krakow and took advantage of to learn more about this passion that a beer unites us
I appreciate that you let us know all this scevezas and your information
have a great nightHello dear friend @phortun good afternoon

Thank you so much for your kind feedback, I am really glad you enjoyed my little beer tour :)

Yeah, these are just everyday supermarker beer, Harnaś is the lowest tier beer, and among others you posted just Lech stands out in any significant way. In Czech Republic there are much better beers IMO, I love what happens with the foam of Czech beer when poured into the glass, it's much smoother and keeps bubbles in for longer time.

Interesting, thank you :) Well, Czech beers are generally considered some of the best in the world so it can be hard for beers from other countries to compete with our beers but as I mentioned it the post, those that I tried in Krakow were ok for me and that was a kind of a nice surprise as I thought you mostly drink Zubrowka :D

Nice mix of !BEER you did.

The next #BeerSaturday will start today and you may add your work to this post to join the weekly challenge

Sorry but I didn´t really get it... What am I suppose to do to join the weekly challenge? :)

Looks like some nice !BEER s you have there!!

Thank you! Cheers :)

A beer a day, keeps the depression away, haha! I'm more into cider but they have the same % of alcohol as beers :D

Hahaha here in my country, the saying would rather be "10 beers a day keeps the depression away" :D I think I actually haven´t tried cider yet, shame on me! :D

Hahaha. That works too, I guess, lol!
As for the cider, just give it a try whenever you get the chance, I'm sure you won't regret it :D
