Personally, I didn't buy into the ThriveOnHive craze. I need to be enlightened as to what we, as hiveians, can learn or get from it.
Maybe I'm too shallow or stupid, but I just don't get it. What's it for? What good does it really do other than one extra post for every one participating. Seeing so many identical posts means that they are quickly going to get burried and ignored. Especially considering that every post on Hive is read by only 1% of the upvoters. Don't quote me on that, it's just based on statistics from my own posts, how many voters vs how many people actually opened the article.
Anyways, coming back to this post, I'm glad you went for a different format. This here is useful and has some great tips and advice. Great work! I say more of this is what is needed.
For those already on the Hive blockchain, the initiative was (as I understand it) intended to reinforce the reasons why we are here. If anyone is disillusioned and considering leaving the platform, it might encourage them to stay.
However, the BIG REASON for the initiative was to provide posts of a positive nature about the Hive blockchain that could be shared to other social media (Twitter, Instagramm, et al.) to advertise and bring more people here. We help the ecosystem grow by onboarding new users, especially with an influx of investors and/or quality-content creators. Many of the #thriveonhive posts have, indeed, been shared to other sites and are already promoting the platform in a positive way.
Thank you for the explanation
Hi @iamyohann and @ybanezkim26,
As the person behind this initiative - I thought I would just step in to clarify a couple of things. First of all it is not a craze - it is a community driven project designed not only to ignite, re-ignite and maintain the passion and enthusiasm among existing members... but to create awareness and generate curiosity for people who have not yet joined us.
As @thekittygirl correctly pointed out, the #thriveonhive posts have stretched FAR beyond this platform.
Campaigns like this have a very key intent -
To give you a little bit of insight into that... today alone, our tweet reach hit almost 50k. and the "campaign" is reaching it's "end" - so these are the LOWEST possible figures I could give you. Using a conservative growth "backward" for the last 7 days at 2% a day - would mean that we have reached an approx. of 300k people on twitter with our link shares alone. This will be ongoing for some time and like I said - is a conservative calculation. This also, does not include all existing blockchain members inspired and encouraged by getting involved. There are a lot of people in this space who feel "lost" and through this initiative we are able to find out "who" they are and guide them appropriately - it also gives them first hand experience from users themselves - "from the horses mouth" so to speak. Each offering their own insights, experience and guidance (in terms of communities etc.)
I am aware that there was an issue with a specific members post being "copied accidentally" during this initiative - I think it is important for me to mention that aside from being on the receiving end of the original authors concerns - we, as a community were not in ANY way involved in this and I feel it in poor taste to taint the efforts of 140 people + because of this. This was an issue that needed to be resolved between @sucal and @mrnightmare89 and he will (no doubt) testify to the fact that we (as community heads) advised that he should handle it in the way he felt fit - irrespective of varying opinions.
blank page - but was ultimately an outline and a guide as to what to write aboutmost grasped this and I hope that my explanation offers some clarity. In addition, @ybanezkim26 - I just wanted to say that your post is definitely a valuable contribution to this initiative - be it in it's "own style".... because that is neither here nor there. The template is offered primarily for those that are not as comfortable to "join in" on something like this from a ... If you have explored the #thriveonhivetag you will have seen that there have been MANY variants - some even videos... which is fantastic!!! - Because the format was not in ANY way the primary focus...
Hive needs people to stand together and that is PRECISELY the objective with #thriveonhive.
I really do hope that this clears up some of the grey areas...
Hi @jaynie! Thank you for stepping in to clarify some things. I'm glad this came to your attention. And you coming your way to shed some light to this matter is very commendable. I guess people have expressed their opinions and I already pointed out mine. I am not against the challenge. I just chose a different approach. One that I think I do best.
I usually take the pragmatic approach on things and yes, I agree that this post is neither here nor there. I hope that this will not create further animosity between different stands. As you said, Hive needs people to stand together. I'm always for the general good of the community moving forward.
I will be the LAST person to condemn an "original approach" - that much I promise you.

I guess the aim of the challenge is to create some hype or buzz and that in itself is commendable. However, the way it was presented is what holds me back. I was actually planning on what to say in my post, but something happened that sealed my reservations.
