"Emotions doesn't always have to be spoken,
Sometimes it is better written".
This is my mantra being an introvert. Yes, I am a shy, timid, one question -one answer whatever-you-may-call it person🤗. I was, and still not good in expressing my self outspokenly. There was those instances in school when the teachers called us one by one to perform oral recitations in class, that was my most dreaded moments. You could literally see me tremble with an ashen-face. Yes, the only thing I haven't done was hide under my desk to avoid being called. Haha! Memories of my primary school years. I was not a slow learner, infact I was an above average student during my school days, but when it comes to oral performances my score would be zero. I don't raise hands to recite eventhough I know the correct answers. I will murmur the answer and my sharp-eared seatmate could hear it, thus earning the points. That was how helpful of me,unfortunately.
My name is Leny, 46,and a mother of a nineteener, a proud Antiqueña. I love reading and writing since the time I learned to read and write, but my passion in Writing really begun during my high school days, when i have to use my free times on the Library rather than hanging out with my classmates on the school premises. I'd rather sit in a bench and read any reading material I can have. I borrowed books mostly Novels and read it at home. Reading from time to time helped a lot on my vocabulary. Later, it paved the way for me to do poetry. I fell inlove with making rhymes out of similar sounding words. I started with a single line, finding another line until I formed a stanza. Its not easy at first but as I go along the words just poured in. I can still remember the very first rhyme I formed, please let me do share it with you:
Rain drizzle softly
Wind hums gently
Time passes slowly
Eyes closed slightly
Waves splashing steadíly
Brother snores noisily
Sister talking dreamily
Enough to make me crazy😊.
This was my first poem.I can still remember the irritations I felt towards my siblings as I cannot catch sleep because of the noise they're making during bedtime. We shared a room and sleep in one bed and because I am the yougest, my place is at the center, in between of the noisy two. I dont know if its a priviledge or otherwise haha!. Back to the rhynes I was able to make out of irritation, I got inspired to do more. The result would depend on the mode of my emotions while making the poem. Later, it become a hobby that during my free time I could find something that will inspire me to do a rhyme . I becone a literary editor of the Sea Breeze, its the name of our school paper during high school. I contributed poems featured in every publication and that's twice a year. The experience made me more passionate in making rhymes every now and then. Every emotions i am having, i want to express it in writing, and it doesn't stop there. Up until these times, at this age, I am still trying to write everything I feel, but now Im just keeping it to myself. Yes just for myself, I dont have an audience anymore. As I said earlier I am an introvert. The only times I exposed my written works was that during high school, I have numbers of poems made and kept this days. I wanna share it if given a chance.
Here comes Hive, The platform which I hope I could share my passion with. My sister inlaw introduced Hive to me. She believe I will have the place to fit in here. I hope I will be given a chance to share what i love to do and that is Writing. I believe it is fate that brought me here or should I say, Destiny😊. I am a little afraid, hesitant, agitated, but I believe in the power of positivity. I will not let the fear stay in my sytem. Please help me reach my dream of featuring my works here in Hive.
