Hey everyone! How's it going? It's been a while since I last posted here. I've been busy sorting out pre-employment requirements and moving out, leaving little time for anything else other than napping and playing a couple of games of League.
I recently relocated to Taguig for my new job which isn't anything new for me as I've moved closer to previous jobs in the past due to my dislike of long commutes. However, this move is a bit different from my prior experiences. For the first time, I will be living alone and truly independently.
Although I've been independent since my second job, my grandmother was still my dependent back then and lived with me, so I wasn't truly alone. Most of the time I would spend many days staying with my then-partner @arcgspy.
Now, I go home with no one to wait for me, to greet me except for the pile of laundry waiting to be washed. Gone are the days of having food prepared just waiting for me to dig in. No one to talk to or hang out with as I do not have any friends near the area.
But, as lonely as it may seem, I found a new sense of freedom that I have been longing for. I am on my own now, making decisions and managing everything. I shoulder my responsibilities and take pride in doing chores voluntarily.
Whenever I open the door to my room after a long day at work, I'm greeted with an organized and clean space that smells fantastic just the same as I left it. There is a sense of accomplishment and pride in it.
Sure, dinner may only consist of eggs, but I don't really mind. I can cook, but I'm not one who enjoys cooking just for myself. Plus, I don't typically eat dinner anyway, since breakfast, lunch, and snacks are all provided for free at work.
A minor issue with my new pad is that I have to pass through a gate on my way to and from work. Unfortunately, there is a furry nemesis, a dog with an attitude, who is on full alert when I show up. He's chained up in the garage, and it seems like the sight of me sets him off. I call this morning and afternoon mashup "buwis buhay." Despite my attempts at making friends, this dog couldn't care less. I've resorted to bribing it with treats as a peace offering.
Another issue is that I haven't managed to set up an internet connection yet. I'm living off of my phone's data, and while it works, it's not the same thing. No Netflix and chill for me! I'm still on the fence about whether or not to bother with an internet provider since I'm out and about most of the time. I'm wondering if it's worth it.
I walk approximately 4 km every day to and from work, which has been great for my health, although I am still not fond of the sun. I enjoy taking my time walking and appreciating the "reality" around me.
Currently, I'm still in training at work, and the lessons are both challenging and engaging. After work, I fill my water bottle (yay free water) and go straight home. So far I am enjoying my alone time and stay here. However, I would appreciate a friend who I can hang out with on weekends. Someone who I can read a book with or work out with would be great.
Even so, I am still hopeful and excited about this new journey. I hope I can say the same a few months in.

You should definitely get the internet connection! Even when you don’t stay in the house long, it will still be very helpful for you, and convenient too. Netflix and chill is the way! 😅
I’ve lived alone too and it was the best time for me. I also didn’t cook dinner so much back then just because. 😂 But I learned a lot during my alone time. I get to do many things alone but of course like you I also long for some company. That’s why I spend my time with friends too. I hope you meet new friends there. And I was really looking for the new pad pictures! None? 🥲
I should have gotten it soon but I'm laaaazy to get the papers sorted out so yeah still pondering if I should get an internet connection haha

You paint a picture of togetherness, mixed with separation, but have an end goal of focusing on an independent lifestyle. I certainly hope these things are of a positive nature; being alone as opposed to being together... (none of my business, of course, just a heartfelt mindset).
You know... if you caught a couple of those cats you would not be alone!! Teasing... I hope your training continues to help, and of course... look forward to part 2 of your journey!

And it's exactly how you thought, during the time I wrote this I was sad but trying to keep a positive mindset so you'd probably notice the mix of emotions there.
I can't foster a cat because I barely feed myself 😂
