That is true, but the problem is in this statement "when used correctly". That's the reason why I'm against downvotes as they give the opportunity to some people to abuse them... We should put this topic back on the table and figure out a better solution, that can't be "abused and used incorrectly"... One under everyone is equal and can't be bullied...
You are right but what can we do? Do you have any solution? If we remove downvotes then scammers can farm a lot of Hive
The solution is dialogue and will to find a better solution... But, at the moment, there is no will to do anything on a "higher level"...
I didn't say that we have to remove downvotes and do nothing... I said that we should try to find a solution that would replace downvotes... that is coded into the blockchain and can't be abused...
You can't find the solution for a problem if you are not brainstorming about it, isn't it like that? It requires experimenting and downvotes are exactly that, our first experiment to fight plagiarism and abuse... Now, we can try to experiment with other solutions, and find the better one...
