Disputada la vigésima sexta jornada de la Premier League y nuevamente en el Etihad Stadium, el Manchester City demuestra que en esta temporada no está en el nivel de anteriores temporadas y de otros equipos en el torneo local; no trato de ser especial al hacer referencia a algo tan evidente en dónde este equipo bajo la dirección de Pep Guardiola ya superó su peor desempeño en una temporada con respecto a las derrotas sufridas, ya que en la primera temporada de Guardiola frente al ManCity tuvo 6 derrotas con 39 goles recibidos y en esta temporada a falta de 13 jornadas por disputar, ya ha perdido 8 encuentros y está a tan solo dos goles de alcanzar la estadística de goles anteriormente citada.
Después de ser superados en la UCL por el Real Madrid de una manera contundente, no hay duda que tanto a Pep como sus jugadores solo le queda aferrarse a luchar por el cuarto y posible tercer puesto en la Premier League, una tarea nada fácil porque este mes de febrero el ManCity ha enfrentado una dura prueba para poder afirmarse en los puestos que dan paso a una nueva temporada en la Champions League. Este equipo solo suma una (inesperada y sorprendente) victoria contra el Newcastle, club que es su perseguidor inmediato por el cuarto puesto y que en esta misma jornada ganó, lo cual alcanza la misma cantidad de puntos que los Ciudadanos.

A pesar de que Guardiola decidió que su equipo titular sea dinámico en dónde la tenencia de balón no sea el orden principal y si la velocidad en ataque, la realidad es que la baja de Haaland afectó el esquema al no poder contar con un referente en ataque dentro del área, es por eso que el excelente trabajo de Doku y Savinho atacando por las bandas fue completamente estéril porque ninguno de sus centros fueron aprovechados por Marmoush y Foden, justamente este último fue junto a De Bruyne de los peores en este juego en dónde al final ninguno estuvo en el nivel de un equipo, el Liverpool FC, quienes decidieron cuando y como jugar, que fueron inteligentes y claro dominante de un encuentro que en mi opinión ya habían ganado antes de comenzar.

Es difícil ver a este equipo que estaba acostumbrado a dominar al rival, a presionar alto, a obligar al rival a resguardarse, a defenderse por miedo a la dinámica de sus jugadores, la circulación rápida del balón y contundencia, todo eso ha desaparecido cuando ahora tienen miedo de atacar, de presionar tan arriba porque saben que no pueden hacer un rápido retroceso y eso deja la puerta abierta a los rivales para hacer daño y eso fue lo que hizo el Liverpool en todo el juego, pero creo que lo peor es que por un momento tuvieron piedad con el ManCity porque se pudo hacer mucho más daño, pero como dije anteriormente, el Liverpool dominó tanto el encuentro que no hubo necesidad de desgastarse; el próximo miércoles Los Ciudadanos deben enfrentarse a otra bestia negra, al Tottenham, lo cual puede ser una nueva oportunidad para poder aferrarse a esa cuarta posición y hasta alcanzar la tercera posición para así ganar confianza y enfrentar un importante mes de marzo en sus aspiraciones de ganar un título y ser parte de la próxima temporada de la UCL.

La verdad, lo que la jornada de la Premier League demostró, fue la dependencia de Haaland en el esquema de Guardiola.
Como sabemos, lo mismo sucedió en el Barsa, salvando las distancias. Los equipos jamás pueden depender de un solo punta que les haga el trabajo...

Exactamente, debe existir variedad y profundidad en el recambio, eso creo que es más evidente que nunca y en el juego de ayer, Haaland hizo mucha falta y en la banca, Guardiola no tiene a nadie que repita esa función de ser un centro delantero.

Es por eso que siempre digo que más allá de la influencia que pueden tener los entrenadores en los equipos (porque algunos Si los tienen), lo más importante creo es el equipo. Armonía en el vestuario, jugadores empoderados e ideas claras para implementar. También existen planicies, que todo equipo debe trabajar para superarlos. Como siempre es un gusto, conocer sus pareceres.

Si, claramente siempre se habla del fin de ciclo del entrenador porque es más fácil cambiar a uno que a once personas, pero creo que por primera vez veré un cambio radical en un equipo con la salida de muchos jugadores que en mi opinión se cansaron de ganar y no quieren competir en la elite del fútbol; seguramente cuando eso ocurra, después se valore el trabajo de Pep que también debe tener sus respectivas críticas.
