Hacer manualidades siempre ha sido mi escape, una manera de relajarme y mantener la mente ocupada, sobre todo en esos momentos en los que no hay electricidad y el tiempo parece avanzar más lento. Recientemente, me he adentrado en el hermoso mundo de las velas decorativas y me ha encantado descubrir lo versátiles y creativas que pueden ser. Aunque es difícil conseguir la cera.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un tutorial muy sencillo para hacer una vela flotante. Lo mejor de todo es que reutiliza materiales y el resultado es precioso.

✨ Materiales ✨

3 velas grandes (pueden ser restos de velas que tengas en casa)
Un frasco de vidrio (yo usé uno de mayonesa, pero cualquier vaso o frasco funciona)
Escarcha brillante del color que prefieras (yo elegí dorada, ¡queda espectacular!)
Agua (la cantidad depende del tamaño del frasco)
Silicona caliente (opcional, para decorar)

🕯️ Paso a paso 🕯️

1️⃣ Añade magia: Coloquen la escarcha en el fondo del frasco. Puedes jugar con los colores para darle un toque único.

2️⃣ Llena el frasco: Agreguen agua hasta la mitad.

3️⃣ Derrite la cera: Usen la técnica de baño maría para derretir las velas. Si son de diferentes colores, pueden mezclarlas o dejarlas en capas.

4️⃣ Forma la vela: Viertan con cuidado la cera caliente sobre el agua. Verán cómo se queda en la superficie, formando una capa flotante.

5️⃣ Coloca la mecha: Antes de que la cera se enfríe por completo, inserta la mecha en el centro. Dejar secar.

6️⃣ Dale un toque especial: Si quieren, decoren el borde del frasco con una cinta dorada o de cualquier color pegada con silicona.

Y ¡listo! Tendrán una vela flotante hermosa y original. Lo mejor de todo es que cuando la agitas, la escarcha se mueve en el agua creando un efecto mágico, casi hipnótico. Es una decoración ideal para cualquier rincón de la casa o un regalo especial hecho con amor.

Recently, I've delved into the beautiful world of decorative candles and have been delighted to discover how versatile and creative they can be. Wax is hard to come by though.

Today I want to share with you a very simple tutorial for making a floating candle. Best of all, it reuses materials and the result is beautiful.

✨ Materials ✨.

3 large candles (can be leftover candles you have at home).
A glass jar (I used a mayonnaise jar, but any glass or jar will work).
Glitter frosting in the color of your choice (I chose gold, it looks spectacular!)
Water (the amount depends on the size of the jar)
Hot Silicone (optional, for decoration)

🕯️ Step by step 🕯️

1️⃣ Add magic: Place the frosting on the bottom of the jar. You can play with colors to give it a unique touch.
2️⃣ Fill the jar: Add water up to halfway.
3️⃣ Melt the wax: Use the bain marie technique to melt the candles. If they are different colors, you can mix them or leave them in layers.
4️⃣ Shape the candle: Carefully pour the hot wax over the water. You will see how it stays on the surface, forming a floating layer.
5️⃣ Place the wick: Before the wax cools completely, insert the wick in the center. Allow to dry.
6️⃣ Give it a special touch: If you want, decorate the rim of the jar with a gold or any color ribbon glued with silicone.

And that's it! You will have a beautiful and original floating candle. Best of all, when you shake it, the frost moves in the water creating a magical, almost hypnotic effect. It is an ideal decoration for any corner of the house or a special gift made with love.
