In Venezuela golfeado is a type of sweet roll with a curled shape, soaked in papelón caramel (melado de papelón), flavored with aniseed, covered and filled with plenty of cheese. It is a traditional dessert of the country and its preparation and ingredients vary according to the region where it is consumed. For the variety of cheeses and others. Es un postre tradicional del país y suele variar su preparacion e ingredientes según la región dónde se consuma. Por la variedad de quesos y demás. Su aspecto es similar al de los rollos de canela, pero los golfeados tienen un encanto muy específico y es el encuentro entre los sabores dulces del papelón y lo salado del queso. Algo que muchos consideran exquisito y un postre perfecto por todos los elementos que conforman al panecillo. Es algo bastante común de consumir y facil de conseguir.
Even with all that goodness and so on, I personally do not like golfeados at all. I find the combination of papelón and cheese a very strange one. I prefer to eat something that is either completely sweet or completely salty. Although depending on the food, sometimes I can enjoy that. Like the sweet and sour of Chinese stir-fried vegetables. But regarding golfeados, I've tried several times to eat them but there's not much improvement in terms of opinion. The times I have eaten them I have found them very dry, without much flavor or very sweet so I guess I haven't found the place and the person who really prepares good golfeados either. Aún con todas esas bondades y demás, a mí personalmente no me gustan nada los golfeados. Me parece una combinación muy extraña la del papelón y el queso. Prefiero comer algo que sea completamente dulce o completamente salado. Aunque dependiendo de la comida, a veces puedo disfrutar de eso. Cómo lo agridulce de los vegetales salteados chinos. Pero con respecto a los golfeados, he intentado varias veces comerlos pero no hay mucha mejora en cuanto a la opinión. Las veces que los he comido me han parecido muy secos, sin mucho sabor o muy dulces por lo que supongo que tampoco he dado con el lugar y la persona que realmente prepare unos buenos golfeados. Por fortuna tampoco me niego a comerlos, porque a mí pareja le encantan y bueno, se vale probar. Sin más que decir muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
Saludos amiga @carminasalazarte, de acuerdo con usted el golfeado tiene un sabor raro por lo dulce y lo salado, no todos saben preparar este delicioso dulce, lo he disfrutado mucho, pero solo me ha gustado en una sola parte que como dice, es lo mejor, claro yo lo puedo degustar, pero en una sola parte es donde le quedan muy delicioso, buen sabor y muy suave.

Mucha gente hace golfeados pero no todos los hacen tan bien, es una lotería, en Artesano Café en Caracas los venden muy sabrosos y por donde yo trabajo también, pero los primeros que te digo son recomendados ampliamente.
