Lost in Stereo... and their first public performance ever!

More than a week already passed since their first live performance. Lost in Stereo debuted last Sunday, and I can tell, it was pretty good for their first performance. I ignore how much time they practised in this setup, but seems that they already had some musical experience earlier - though maybe not together.

I noticed them setting up the small improvised stage while visiting an adoption festival in the local park. I really enjoyed the doggies and also the chit chat with some acquaintances I met there. The whole atmosphere was nice, the day also contributed to bringing more positivity as it was sunny and warm. I premiered a T-shirt for this year and felt like the spring was already knocking on the door. A great combination of conditions made the day memorable.

However, we are all getting old, and even if I can trust in my memory I know it would fail me one day. The pictures and sounds, fragrances and feelings will slowly fade away, it happens many times. Our brain cells still store somewhere all the information but the way how to get to them is maybe slower or even cut off. Some small triggers can help refresh the remembrance... a photo... reading a note from your diary... a video you accidentally find many years after an event happened. Does it happen to you too?

There is an easy recipe how to do something good for those memories, not let them go away that easily. We could write down those events here, to have always access to them (hopefully forever) and at the same time share our experiences with others. What do you think? Is it achievable? I know that it is, as @edje is bringing many times {take with a reserve the word many - it can always be more than that :D} his reports from festivals, concerts, club events he visited. I was not fortunate to follow them from the beginning of his posting time here, but the benefit of writing a report around an event can show its power. It stays here forever (I should repeat my hope in that forever word). We can go back and check the shares, both as authors of them or just virtual visitors. As a cool example, we could go back to past and read in the backwards order some of those reports published as a part of a mini series. Memento style reports for all of us and our pleasure can be seen here , and there and also clicking on this one or I should introduce to my posts a so cute way of embedding a link with these words I am stealing now : click me. To be honest, I am not really sure did I bring the posts in the right order 😂

But if you don't want to go that back in time, let's check some recent posts in the Q-inspired community and be inspired in the true sense of the word. We can visit a music club adventure, or attend to a mini-festival or even adventure ourselves in some tasty bites on a massive festival that celebrates 25 years of existence. We have been invited by the author of those posts to bring our contributions too.

If you fancy classical concerts you could enjoy harmony served by a small string orchestra, a choral festival, or maybe a piano recital. Just a few days ago we were surprised by a nice contribution about a symphonic tribute to The Beatles written by @musicandreview. And I assure you, more will come, at least from my pen as the material is in the preparation phase already. Classical, techno, rock, traditional, metal, pop... the genre is not the main protagonist! The feeling we got from those events is!!

DSC_4529.JPG

What the small open-air performance gave me is a smile and positivity.
A smile, yes, as I was so much enjoying seeing those two young people having their live performance. I installed my physical being close to them, but I was changing my place from left to right and letting myself enjoy their music from different angles. Speakers were around, but a bit of wind too... the sound in the video received a little amount of that latter but not that noticeable. What we can hear as backing vocals in the second song of the video is dogs' barking. They got crazy from something and for some moments we hear many of them practising their barking activity. Well, not to blame them, the performance was held at that dogs' adoption festival. It was their day and maybe it is the way how they were singing with the musical group Lost in Stereo.

DSC_4528.JPG

The two from the group were singing nicely, not for a long time though, maybe a bit more than half an hour of the performance. The girl was the lead singer, but the guy's main instrument was the electric guitar. I just missed out to record some of his guitar solos... Anyway, they covered some legendary songs like The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson, What's Up by 4 Non Blondes, Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles, Need You Now by Lady Antebellum or Valerie by Amy Winehouse and others, but that is what we can hear in the small compilation I recorded.

DSC_4527.JPG

I will not go into a detailed critique about whether everything was perfect or not, just some short observation is what I will provide. Her voice is clean and nice, it can be still polished but it will come with more experience. We should not forget, it was their first live performance ever together, so it was more than good. The stage where they installed the equipment was provided by the dog festival organizers so we can not complain about those things. In a park, where the music was not the main goal, it was ok. I was not the only one who was listening to them, other people were around too and enjoyed it, so I can conclude that they are able to grip the attention.

When they finished, I approached and expressed my satisfaction with their performance. They were pleased and that was the moment when they told me that it was their debut together. Well, I wished them luck and went with that smile on my face home. Wouldn't you also be happy seeing young people with enthusiasm?

And I know what would bring more smiles to our faces. Seeing your report about some festival or party, concert or another musical event you witnessed.
Do you have photos of that day? Great!
Do you have a video of the performance? Super, but not vital.
Do you have a story and your perception? Excellent and essential!
Do you want to write it down and make it visible for you any time you come back and want to refresh your memory? We would be also pleased to read your share!

Nice one mrs Piano :)

Memento style series: Great you've included that one. And yes, or no, not really in the right order. You mixed the last two ones :) It also has this 'stolen' 1 to 4 out of 3 as Douglas Adams was using it with his Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy consisting of 4 books :)

... this brings me to this ...

'Click Me': We steal every day. Even the best creative peeps 'steal' ideas and concepts. I believe I shared it with you before, the vid by David Lynch in which he basically says that any creation is a (new) combination of things that the creator has seen already. Maybe adding a new element, but foremost, it is the new combination of ideas and concepts already used.

Looking at the traction of your post, we may start seeing more 'reports' incoming. Great post {am repeating, something I seem to do more often these days}

Oh no, I messed up the order?

I was sure I followed the order from that hivesearcher link, but anyway, it was on purpose!!

{where's Pinocchio?} 😂

Yes, you shared with me the video of David Lynch and I do agree with that concept.
Ok, so stealing not stealing. 😇

Hmm, I am not sure but we will see what will happen 😅

But you can repeat (if you like to do that these days) going to events, writing reports and all that 😅

Thank you 🎶🎶🎶

{where's Pinocchio?}

Strange indeed.... His is not in the Engage emoticon library. Telegram has it, so I 'stole' him from there 🤥

stealing not stealing

😂😂😂

😂

if Engage doesn't have it, you had to be creative and bring it from telegram :))

For a moment I saw myself and Dina on that stage sharing live music in front of an audience, we are anxious to be able to do it one day, I have already played live with a band but Dina has not yet.

I appreciate the existence of these reports, I think they are very valuable because they will allow us to remember forever those moments that we lived and that we are passionate about as musicians. Probably there will come some publications of my experience playing live, I have some things to tell.

Seeing you and Dina live on a stage would be more than cool!

I would write a mega-giant report about you two :))))

So I hope you will have an opportunity to do a live concert together soon! You are already practising together, every day and here on hive the duet of you two is already rocking! In real life would be the same, you would have success. Fingers crossed for that!

Probably there will come some publications of my experience playing live, I have some things to tell.

This is perfect news! 😎

"I would write a mega-giant report about you two :))))"

👆 This would be a great honor dear! 🤗

👆 This would be a great honor dear! 🤗

🤗
I hope my report would come faster than my response to this comment 😅

Ahhh how great.
It seems to me that for their first presentation together they did very well.

Going back to the past publications makes us see how much we have grown and that I have little time compared to what many already have here, also so I don't forget that I presented something, lest I do it again for forgetting everything.
🤣

Yes, their first performance as a band was good, I was surprised when they let me know they just debuted that day.

Yes, going back to publications we made in the past can show the path of how we have grown, but also remind us of some events, feelings and ways of our thinking, not to forget them. You are doing very well, from the very beginning, and you will grow so much still!

Hugs and thank you for stopping by 🤗

I had to smile reading the strict evaluation of the music teacher, trying to take it easy on the performers. (Though I can certainly relate: being trained in exhibits, I can't go to a museum without noticing how well they did the lighting or the typeset on the info panels, hahahaha!)

Reading your post brought to mind a phenomenal live performance I saw once many years ago. It was mostly improvised, 100% acoustic, but highly engaging and super comical: Two Irish guys busking on the streets of Budapest on their guitars, singing old rock favorites, interspersed with frequent jokes, in a highly interactive fashion with their audience. One memorable part was when they found out that some of the crowd that had gathered were tourists from Macedonia, they immediately changed the lyrics in the middle of the song: "Welcome to the hotel Macedonia..."

Now I am laughing and laughing and laughing 😂😂

First, because of this teacher evaluation thing hahaha, but you see, I was gentle. And you do the same on the exhibitions, so you understand me :D
It is the professional deformation of each of us :D

Wow, and also the story you brought here made me laugh, I imagined the perfect picture there, the Irish musicians singing Welcome to the hotel Macedonia 🤣
That is great to have the ability to interact with the audience, freely. For sure, one of the signs that they really enjoyed what they were doing 🎵

Hahaha! Professional deformation. I like that! And no matter how gentle and understanding we are trying to be, it will probably accompany us for a lifetime.

Indeed, those guys weren't busking for money, that was clear. (Though they never refused any coins being dropped in their guitar cases either.) I think they just wanted to keep themselves entertained, by entertaining others. Which I guess is exactly what made them so successful and popular with the crowd!

The same thing can be said about your post, by the way! Writing them is obviously something you enjoy, and I'm sure you would keep doing it, even if the HIVE priced went back to where it was two years ago.

hive and two years ago. Soon, in June it will be two years of my hive journey, and I don't remember if there was a day without hive :)
price of it is not the factor that determines if I am active here or not

Btw, do you remember when we talked for the very first time? I do remember hahaha. It was one of your posts about Music (Monday Music) and it was if I am not mistaken about Halász Jutka :))
I spotted the name so I think I reacted to your post 😇

Yes, I remember you commenting on my post about Halász Judit! That was a while ago! Not sure, but it feels like it's been more than two years. But if that's when your Hive journey started, it must have been right at the start.

I came to Hive on the last day of June 2020 and was not engaging in the first month or even two - I was lost 😂
So, it can not be before autumn of that year. But yes, it was a while ago.

Oh wow!!! And in less than two years you surpassed me in reputation points, though I have been here nearly five years. Respect! But it's true, you are a pretty prolific poster. 😄

Some small triggers can help refresh the remembrance... a photo... reading a note from your diary... a video you accidentally find many years after an event happened. Does it happen to you too?

Sounds (particularly songs) and smells sometimes seem to force old memories to the surface, as though they were happening all over again. Sometimes this can be so wonderful!

Do you want to write it down and make it visible for you any time you come back and want to refresh your memory? We would be also pleased to read your share!

For me, this is my greatest goal on Hive. I love the idea of leaving a record of myself somewhere in the anonymous internet world. I’ll be able to come back and remember these times, and this is worth more than all the post payouts. I think, *someday, I’ll be one of the great quena players in our world, and it will be fun for people to come back to the old Car-Fluting videos and see how i grew through sheer effort and consistency - I was never something special, i was just a regular person who was determined to become great at something he loved :)

This was a really awesome post - it speaks directly to me on a number of levels, and I think has the right form to inspire users to bring a greater depth if content to the table.

Pilamayaye, Kola! :)

Haw

Yes, sounds and smells can do that, those are like small triggers that can awaken in us the things we forgot. It is wonderful indeed :)

You are doing very well, and that car fluting videos are a cool thing. As I already told you, I dont know how do you do that, with another instrument would be even more difficult :D
When I was studying I used to record my playing on cassettes haha, I didn't have a camera to record a video of me, and mobile phones still didn't exist ( well, they did but not with the features we have nowadays). Those audio recordings served me to see what I have to improve and showed a path of growth.

Thank you for your visit and your words of appreciation. I am happy this post can further inspire, actually, all is about that in this Q corner :D

Pilamayaye :))

HAHAHA! Thank you! Your Lakota is very good :)

I really appreciate your words of kindness as well. I think I’ve been feeling very emotional lately - and between your post about memories, @cabelindsay ‘s post about bicycles, and sitting down listening to Cat Steven’s Father and Son when I came home from work today, I’ve been feeling those emotions extra hard today - which is one if the greatest joys life has had to offer me thus far.

I genuinely appreciate your posts, your perspectives, and most importantly, your kindness and friendship. I hope you have a wonderful evening, filled with the joys of peace and love :)

Aho mitakuye oyasin, Kola - le apetu wastelo :)

oh, here comes mipiano again 😂

this have engage application didn't work from yesterday, now I am catching up with the comments from 7 days ago 😱 😆

Thank you so much for your appreciation and your wishes.

Aho mitakuye oyasin, Kola - le apetu wastelo :)

I just managed to find the meaning of the first part of this sentence, but not the rest :D

My Lakota seems that is not that good as we thought lol

Loading...

This is interesting to see, they seem perfect and I love the sound
It has been long I heard the song "My Lonely days are gone". I loved the way she sounded and the string was perfect.

Mostly here, it has to be gospel concerts, home coming, the parties are mostly done by a DJ, would that count??

Alot of choir concerts, i would have to check my archives for memories

Yes, they seem like a perfect combination and as if they would have been playing together for a longer time :)

A lot of choir concerts, i would have to check my archives for memories

👌

Well, I said the genre of the music is not playing the main role. But we want to see how the particular event made you feel and think, what was special, when and where it happened, what you would highlight etc. Choir, gospel, electronic, classical, or another genre? Music is emotions, and a cool event deserves a cool report :)

Wow. An amazing performance.
I would love to hear them live. 🙂

Btw, I, sometimes, think of Hive as a repository to document my memories, learnings or progress.
Few years from now, I will surely review my previous post. 🙂

Hive on!

!1UP

A learning process, yes, that is true!

I hope we will all just learn and do better every day in the quality of our posts :)) 🥂

😊😎 That girl sure can sing! Lovely voice.

Yes, hive is a great diary that I couldn't accidentally erase by accident. I love looking back at some of my old posts and seeing what I was doing that time.. and it's even free online storage! :P

Yes, she was singing nicely :)))

I also like to go back sometimes, but not too much into the past, at least with my posts. Sometimes it is OMG, what was that 😂

You've really given me food for thought there!
I can see this serving as one's diary indeed..
I'm still struggling to put out things quickly like you guys, but I guess it's all a learning curve, and blogging is a totally new thing for me.
I've started taking more mental notes of interesting things..
That alone is a strain on the poor memory.. lol

I really enjoyed listening to that duo by the way! I think, she's got a great voice, but maybe some songs suit her voice better than others, but it sounded great.
Some of the songs I do myself, and a couple I had on my list to try..

So much to do.. :D

Putting out the things quickly?

well, don't worry, I am super slow in writing my posts for example. It takes several hours, although it maybe doesn't look like that.

Learning curve - that is a curve for all of us. At least, I started to think in English. For everything connected to hive or interactions through the web, and even when I want to say something to my husband ( connected to hive) I find the corresponding words only in English 😂😂😂

The duo did well, right? I hope they will continue playing together 🎶

@mipiano good morning, I came back to read this amazing post and listen to the singers especially, then I remembered that I have a YouTube Livestream concert to watch today, so I was wondering if it was in line to talk about it

Also, about pictures, is it totally cool to takes picture from device I am watching from or would a screenshot be perfect?...Videos I could easily record 2 or 3mins of important songs performed...

Can I do this and share as an experience?

Hello @gone-hive

Well, this is not exactly what we are looking for, it was meant for a live event, you participating in real life and having photos (or video) from there.

But, if you make a post about your opinion, and feelings about what the music gave you while you have listened to it from live streaming, that can be ok. You should not record a video from live streaming that is not you playing or singing though!!

Alright thank you very much 😊
