Does this include comments too or only top level posts?

I haven't checked all comments, this is just top level posts.

I guess I'm curious how the microblogging apps, particularly Leo Threads and Waves have impacted things. I could imagine that a non-trivial number of people have chosen that as their main way to post and those would all show up as comments.

I just took a quick look at comments per month. It is down as well, but not approaching an all time low like posts per day are.

Interesting finding.

Was the other all-time low right after the prior hardfork? Or is there another one?

P.S. Wondering what was happening during the previous all-time low.

It can be seen on the chart, we were about this low 3 times before, at the end of 2020, 2022 and 2023. This is the worst by far we've been outside of Christmas period.

Ah okay, I think it will turn around and $HIVE will do very well.

Just not sure what the process to get there will look like.

It's quiet indeed. I tried to give away 50 Hive yesterday and couldn't even get a taker!:)

It does seem a bit quiet. I'll just take a bigger share of the rewards :)

I am not that bothered about this, since earning from the reward pool by posting content is just one of the many pillars of activities on Hive. What the devs should be focusing on is building more foundational tech on the Hive network for entrepreneurs and investors so that Hive can create more demands for its tokens and business use cases.

Interesting data, what could be the reasons why there are not that many people posting on Hive now.

I don't find this terribly concerning. The folks that are just here to spam and farm always dissipate when the price drops. My personal experience with the platform has improved.

I also do not know why I am even posting for those few cents

I got more Hive back some years ago.. probably should have also cashed out some..

Well I still have hope that with a potential bull run mentality and a price recovery, people might come back and post a lot to get rewards, new users might hear about it and grow could start being exponential again like the Steem early days.
On a secondary note I think communities are developing so maybe hive will be more community based in the future like reddit.
On inleo.io threads are becoming a real thing daily and people are interacting more with each other in my opinion and since they are comments on the hive blockchain it should get those numbers up.

Ya we seem to have lost our "steem"

We need to pickup steem

Call up the koreans and Kingstown maybe we can pump hbd like they pumped sbd

We need a wired magazine article about hive like steem had

What else? We need @dan larimer and our own new @ned Scott to centralize 90% I guess

Discord seems quiet, too. Summer holiday for bloggers?

Posted via D.Buzz

Quieter than any previous summer though. Only comparable to Christmas in years past.

Are people in Hive aware of this significant data? If this is the case there is something wrong with the community or the quality of users here on Hive.

Interesting, does that mean that our vote power would be higher to distribute the reward pool completely?

That would depend on vote counts which I haven't checked, but I guess is probably also low. It likely means more Hive (author rewards) per post.

Maybe top posters are.leaving.for greener pastures.

Are they the ones leaving? Spam and farming posts always go down when the price drops. My feed seems completely unaffected by these numbers.

Yeah, I can't tell about the metrics just looking at my own performance. It seems like I'm in a bubble.

My favorite part of Hive is that we get to make our own bubbles, not have them chosen for us by an algorithm.
