RE: So much garbage that is talked in the street and in the #media, in the name of ...

It's true, but I feel that Psychology has been prostituted more. I think it was Skinner who said something similar, but human behavior is the most common and closest thing we have, and that's why we all think we know so much about it.

I'm very interested in Clinical Psychology

Aside from self-help "gurus" spreading false info & their followers believing it helps (despite objective evidence).

Posted via D.BuzzWould you say the study of psychology has been "prostituted" to benefit #BigPharma medicine?

Good question, and in fact it is a visible effect observed in the evolution of the DSM. All this overdiagnosis from social networks is nothing more than an effect of it. Nowadays, the best way to hide is to exaggerate.

Yes, & I think 2 questions can further clarify what makes the DSM interesting.

  1. The DSM offers a list of symptoms, does it offer a clear layout of what a healthy mind is?

  2. If started to tell you each coordinate on earth where I was not, how long would it take to find me?

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Indeed, the DSM does not talk about what a healthy mind is, it is simply a diagnostic and statistical manual. It is just to categorize -once again- people, even though the reality is that each one expresses symptoms in a very particular way.

Clinical Psychology is very interesting.

I'm also interested in psychology & clinical psychology.

Understanding discontentment, the cause of discontentment, the solution & way of practice leading to the elimination of discontentment, is my main topic of interest.

I take the opportunity to tell you that, although I don't have posts focused exclusively on the clinical field, I have some that touch on those topics from a more social perspective, and that they are even in English, in case you're interested in taking a look at them.

From the perspective of those books & experts.

  1. What is discontentment?
  2. What is the cause of discontentment?
  3. How to eliminate discontentment?
  4. How can a person practice in order to move toward the elimination of discontentment?

These are quite broad issues that should be grounded a little. Dissatisfaction is simply when a person experiences it as such, regardless of the situation or the causes, because it is totally valid to feel discomfort in the face of whatever it is that causes it.

And finally, discontent is an inherent part of life itself, so it is impossible to eliminate it and what is necessary is to learn to deal with it. The ways to deal with it are left to the individual.

I personally view discontentment as an experience that can be permanently eliminated.

That there is a single universal cause that's true for every human being, every living being and in every circumstance.
