This is my first time posting about coin, and I hope that I won't break any guidelines. Although it is about silver and gold, this time the coin that I have now only consists of Aluminium. I don't think there are many of the coins here in my country that are made of silver, maybe in the past, but not recently.
And why I titled it as a useless coin, and unfortunately, it is also still a legal tender, because the coin almost won't get you anything these days. Even small candies sometimes cost a lot more than this coin.
This is also part of my experiment of doing some of my macro setup at home, which for me doesn't seem to work really well. Maybe you can tell what is lacking in the photos below.
Here you can see the denomination of this coin, which is 100 Rupiah, and the year of its emission, which is 2016. So this coin is maybe about 9 years old already.
Then I tried to put it upright on my desk. And the light from my camera flash was bouncing back into the desk, making it shine a little bit.
I am not sure why I only get one photo of the obverse part of the coin. hahaha
it shows the emblem of Indonesia (Garuda Pancasila) and the portrait of the national hero of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Ir Herman Johanes.
Here is more info about the coin. And I never expected that the coin is worth more than $1 out there in another country. so amazing and interesting.

I'm okay with non precious metals coinage. I do have a variety of coins from all over the world that are not silver nor gold. Some interesting, and some rather ordinary.
Is it difficult to find a place that sells silver coinage near your residence?

I found this beautiful note at my local hobby & collectables show.
I don't think we have that kind of seller, mostly they are in the form of jewelry, and at times they can be expensive, not for the silver content, but for the artistic value. haha
Wow that is so awesome that you still have that bank note, and it still looks so beautiful. I think I will check on the older bank note that I have at home. ;)
I am so happy that you still like my coin, I will have the other one tomorrow, which is still (useless)
Oh I like the photography Eka, especially with the coin standing on its edge!
Ah, thank you so much Ed, I am so happy that you like it. I hope to be able to get from a different angle next time.

Over here, it requires at least five coins to just purchase one sweet candy. The standing coin photos look vivid, both front and back :)
Well, that is another way to see the world from your perspective. ;)
Thanks so much, man.

Nice coin! Those aluminum coins can be pretty cool. One thing to be careful about though, I knew a guy who put one on the railroad track to flatten it out, but instead it shot at him like a bullet and went clean through his bag! lol So they can be dangerous!
One country in eastern Europe even made plastic coins at one point, so that one isn't worthless by a long shot!
