I reached the ten thousand step goal again yesterday. I didn't get many steps during the day, but I was able to put in lots of steps in between the weight lifting sets.
I work out in my garage, and after doing a set of pull-ups, for example, I do about ninety seconds of quick walking to let my muscles recover and keep my heart rate up.
I also get lots of steps that way and use more calories this way. I came up with this technique after I started having issues with my knees last year.
Before that, I used to do regular weight lifting workouts, which meant that I was simply resting in between sets.
I was doing two weight lifting workouts per week and one calisthenics cardio workout in addition to the weight lifting workouts.
Calisthenics workout had a lot of exercises that put strain on my knees, so while it was a great cardio and lower body workout, it did cause problems.
As I approach the big fifty years old milestone, I have to adjust the way I work out.
Tomorrow is Valentines Day, which means a nice meal and no workout 🙃

Congratulations on your focus and dedication, really strengthening the area around your knee is something that requires dedication and care. When I run, I always take care of my knee and shin.
Thank you. Yes I am trying to make sure I don't hurt it anymore. Might try to do more leg work in the future, but will start just a little bit at a time, for now I will try to focus on walking more.
Yes, start off easy, if you can, always monitor your heart rate, it also helps us get an idea of how we are doing.
