The journey of more to enough is a tedious one. "More life" can mean so many different things to different people, but it is always the first step to achieving "enough". Some go down the rabbit hole of more materialistic things, which you have been stubborn against. And that's a good thing, no? At the end being content isn't derived from material things. Sure it makes things easier until they start piling up and become a weight instead of a relief.
One of the worst things is how they devalue so quickly, and become junk. Here in the West you can buy an expensive telly and then it's hard to sell as either most people have one or they don't have the money for an expensive one or they have too much money and wouldn't buy second hand. That goes for heaps of 'things'. So it's not as if consuming builds on your net riches. You're just hoarding STUFF.
The older I get, the more pointless I see the accumulation of ANYTHING is, except of course for immaterial things.
