Meditation: The more you worry, the less you control your mind...
There are a number of things that Eastern philosophies, such as Buddhism and Minimalism, offer to the human experience; to give just one example not widely held by everyone, worldwide, I would say the ability to discipline your character. That unlike what is understood by ‘discipline’ in the West, where it is aggressiveness and the removal of part of our passions in order to fit in with militarised schemes, for people who love the breadth of thought and put into practice the teachings of Buddha, to give just one example, being disciplined is not an obligation that takes years, mistreatment and sacrifice to achieve; that consequence of meditation... The subject of this post.
You see, in recent years, especially in the ultma.decsda, the use of guided meditation in guided lessons has become too popular in the world of (Indian) yoga or with similar connotations, but reconverted to Western standards. What do I mean by all this? Well, that fortunately, while this concept is not strictly the same as Buddhism, it is beginning to be normalised in these parts of the world. And let's be completely honest, shall we? We are not a society that readily embraces the customs of the other part of the world.
Let alone my own experience... I grew up in a typically chaotic household. Where my family's designs were guided through my mother's orders and wishes. She managed and veiled that her orders were carried out. From the colour of the facade of the walls of our house to how I was supposed to dress my daughter at Christmas.... Evidently, years of so much mental exhaustion, coupled with my everyday life, with everyday problems, created the ideal breeding ground for the inevitable confrontation. But certain remnants of years of accumulated passions leave an imprint, you know?
Although we believe that by doing catharsis (another remnant of Eastern philosophies) we release everything we have inside, this is not always the case. Anger is that companion that I have always kept in me. In one way or another, it has always been there. Like a lynx lurking but deciding ‘not to attack’, only to ‘observe’. I am aware that this is not positive for me, and with the years, the search for wisdom and a strong influence that in many occasions ‘less is actually more’, I have decided to add meditation to my habits. I don't need to concentrate my chi, or light 200 scented candles.... A corner of my house, the winter breeze in Venezuela and a little noise reduction is enough.
Everything that disturbs me and worries me, eventually disperses, sways. It is not a ‘magic’ solution; of course not. But it is one more resource to deal with the after-effects of living. The same ones that mark the lives of everyone, everywhere. If you've seen the Oscar-winning 2023 film ‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’, you'll probably have a better idea of what I mean. But if you haven't, it's no big deal either: in the end, it all comes down to finding ways to reconcile ourselves with what we dislike or what generates conflict. The discipline of keeping ourselves stable is fundamental, elemental, artistic and sublimely minimalist. Worry less, focus more.

Hello @minimalistliving thank you for made all this community for all of us!
The western world has always been linked to that chaos, it is like a habit that this is so and of course many people look for alternatives or ways out of those parameters to have a calmer life in the midst of chaos.
Couldn't say it any better, @wilfredocav
Wow when you use "the aftermath of living" I can't help but see it as reality, life is quite complex and full of difficulties that seem to level up....
Meditating is a way of quietly acknowledging, reflecting slowly and in detail, certainly something that will help us grow as people and disorient us from many negative things.
And it doesn't include guilt. Important thing.
