RE: Flowers and a phone

in Photography Loverslast year

Sure, I love Singapore as well, but I must admit that the consistently hot and humid weather we experience all year round can be a bit of a turn off for us locals!

Traveling around the world to attend Formula 1 races must have been quite an exciting journey in its own right! I never really followed Formula 1 until I watched the Netflix series "Drive To Survive" recently. Have you seen it too? 😁

Sort:

Your humidity and heat is not pleasant at all, I don't get that sort of weather in the part of Australia I reside in, (the humidity I mean, it gets very hot though), the humidity is more of a tropical north thing. It's confronting but fortunately the race is at night so it's a little cooler. Getting to the track at 4pm can be a problem though. It's all good though I guess, I'd rather put up with some heat and humidity and be there rather than not be there at all.

I've seen all seasons of Drive to Survive, it starts the Formula One season off, wrapping up a lot of the behind the scenes stuff from the previous year and it's quite entertaining. It's brought a lot of new people to the sport. I started watching back in 1979 (I was nine) and have watched every season since. I'm old huh? 😉

Not that old, or at least a hippy old? The things that you're doing or is involved in are pretty cool, so I won't classify that as old 😅

Yeah the show definitely brought me into Formula One and is pretty excited to catch it in Singapore this time round, especially when I can identify some of those racers now 🤣

or at least a hippy old?

I'm the antitheses of a hippy.

I won't classify that as old

I'm not old, I just say it for fun I guess...it amuses me somewhat for some reason.

I'm jealous...Usually I flow out from Australia on the Thursday prior to the race weekend (so next Thursday) and stay for a week...I love it man...but this year I'll have to watch on TV, also good, but not as good.

I had to google what "antitheses" means, sorry for the poor command of my English language 😅

The prices for hotels near the racetrack are incredibly high. I initially wanted to book a night to celebrate my wife and my anniversary while attending the race, but it looks like a smarter choice to purchase Formula 1 race tickets and sleep back at home instead! 🤣

Ok, sorry...it means the opposite.

It's super costly or sure. I usually stay at the Sofitel City Centre next to the track or the Riverside Hotel Robertson Quay, the former is more costly though. Add in the flights, tickets and spending money and there's no change from $7,000 Australian dollars. If you live close you're really better off staying at home and going to the track each day, I know how good your MRT is so I'm sure it would be an easy trip.

Haha you do sound like a frequent visitor here in Singapore!
Yeah I actually love our public transport system, its so efficient 😊

Wow $7k Australian dollars is insane for a trip over a weekend to catch the race, you must be really passionate to follow the teams all over the world! Which team are you rooting for? 😁

you do sound like a frequent visitor here in Singapore!

I've been there more than fifteen times...less than twenty.

The MRT is great, I use it all the time. I like that musical voice that says, train is coming. Cracks me up every time.

Which team are you rooting for?

I don't really have t team as such, I like a few of them, a few drivers too. I guess I just love the racing and the complexities of the sport. There's two Australian drivers I follow, one who drives for McLaren and the other for AlphaTauri...but I like others as well, Fernando Alonso, Alexander Albon...I just like the whole ting.
