Another rainy day = new walk around the city. What's challenging about shooting on a night like this is you are all wet, the umbrella doesn't help much, feet are cold and likely soaked from stumping in big puddles because as you are focused on compositions you don't see where you are stepping. Equipment and the bag are also wet so you try to clean them but the water is all over your hands and tissues. The lens is covered in droplets and fog. And you can't even see the composition well or review the images because the viewfinder and LCD are in the same condition.
Well that describes some of the problems we street photographers face on cold, rainy days. :) In the end it's always worth it. There was never a day that I regretted going out and being cold and soaking wet. One has to suffer a bit in order to feel more alive and unlock the next level in their artistic pursuit. At some point the misery turns into a childish excitement.
Night falls down quickly which is fine because it gives more punch to the colors reflected on the pavements. It was kind of a dull look throughout the day with overcast sky. My favorite way to shoot at night is to aim towards the source of light and have subject silhouetted in front of it. It creates a nice separation against the background. This contrast is most important - you'll see it in each of the photos, either subject or background is lit.
Shooting trams and trolleys on a day like this is always fun, especially with the condensation droplets on the windows. It bends and reshapes the figures inside making the photo abstract. In Belgrade, when the big rain starts it's not uncommon to have a collapse in traffic, which is exactly what happened this time as well. One tram malfunctions and suddenly everything stops and there are crowds of people stuck on their way from work cursing and debating whether to wait or go on foot.
I hope you can feel the atmosphere from these photos. There are few in there that I quite liked and few that didn't turn out as well as I hoped. Taken with Fuji X-Pro2 and 35mm F/2 lens.

Rainy nights are always a street photographer’s dream, but maybe an equipment’s nightmare 😅. I love seeing the people wearing all sorts of stuff with often colorful umbrellas. Your photography is always spot on :D
