Uninhabited islands are found in distant seas. We remember the story of Robinson Crusoe. True, his island will be somewhat larger than mine. How much more, you can tell from the photos.
It was a cloudy autumn day. Not that the clouds were too thick and low, but enough to hide the sun. A little more light ... and autumn would sparkle with all its colors. But in its own way it was good without harsh shadows and gusty winds. And most importantly, it was dry, the rains got lost somewhere and did not come to this holiday.
I wandered through a wild park in the suburbs of St. Petersburg, hoping to take some pictures of the autumn (I assumed that the sun might come out unexpectedly ... but it didn't). Knowing that the park has four lakes, I headed towards one of them.
I knew that on this lake there is a small islet overgrown with birches, but I have never been here in the fall. In the summer we came here to swim and just relax. But now a beautiful sight opened before me.
Yes, this is the same uninhabited island. It doesn't even have its own name. I decided to correct this injustice and from now on I will call this island Berezov.
On the first I added saturation during processing, but I will not do that anymore. You will see this day as it was without makeup.
The first two photos were taken with a lens ... no title. This is a one-of-a-kind copy converted from a cinema lens. Maybe I'm wrong, but I couldn't find analogs on the Internet. Its focal length is approximately 100-105 mm (compared with other lenses).
The last photo is also an OKS 1-21-1 cine lens.
Of course, I filmed not only this Birch Island. And in fact, I was not alone there with the camera. Those guys were much more serious than me, and maybe even pro, judging by their equipment.
Two tripods, an impressive camera with microphones and some incomprehensible devices ... There were a lot of them and they tried to film three funny dogs on video (if I understood correctly). But the dogs saw the water and ... I don't know if these guys took what they wanted or not, but I did a few shots of dog fun.
They appeared unexpectedly from behind a hillock and I did not have time to reconfigure the camera. But you can understand something in the pictures.
And as a symbol of the closing of the summer fun season ...
Farewell to some colors of autumn.
Until next time, friends.
I would laugh (and believe) if you got better pictures of the lake and the dogs that they did!
... I think it is not. There were really serious guys there. I have seen that :)

And maybe so, but I have seem stuff over the years shot by so called professionals on top dollar equipment and at the same time, the same thing shot by an amateur on old, bandaged equipment which has been far superior to the shots by the professional...
It'd not about the cost of the cars, but the capability of the driver- well in this case cameras...lol.. and I know that you have the capability to shoot great stuff and it doesn't matter on what equipment...I've seen ti and I reckon that you could show those guys more than a thing or 2...
I agree, not everyone who considers himself a pro does his job at this level.
In fact, the equipment is secondary. An artist can use a hole in a beer can instead of a lens (pinhole) and shoot a masterpiece :)
My camera (Sony A7M2) allows you to take pictures of any quality and here the technical side of the issue is based rather on the choice of lens. How the photo will look depends on this choice.
But I still have a lot to learn and practice a lot ... which I enjoy doing :)

Love that analogy! bee can for a lens- that's the type of person that I always prefer to work with! I once worked with a guy on a show and although he was technically amazing with the camera, he couldn't see the best shots and it used to annoy the crap out of me.
Though when I look back on some I my footage, I cringe too, but I work by myself with 2-3 Sony cameras (Z7/NX5/A1P) and do all of the sound and lighting myself too so ofcourse I'm going to miss things...and I would prefer to work with a couple f others, but they have to be ready to jump in and be creative with the technology- I love gaff tape, gorilla grips, clamps and rubber bands! 🤣
Just having a look at your camera now...how many lenses do you have???
... sometimes it happens that a person buys professional equipment, undergoes special training and begins to shoot dull standard footage. Before that, he was an amateur and took interesting live photographs.
It turned out to be all about training. He accepted the general rules of the game and began to strive for "correct" photographs. At a time when creativity is just going beyond the established boundaries (within reasonable limits, of course).
Two or three more are missing here. :)) I made more than half myself in search of different artistic effects. Now I actually only use three old manual lenses. But I know that if I need something special, I can always choose.
You have a rich arsenal, these are great opportunities for creativity. I used to shoot a little video and even made some videos :)) But photography absorbs me more and more. Even my son, who was mainly involved in music and organized a laser show, started looking in the direction of the photo. I gave him my old Sony A57. Although he is more interested in video filming.
Yes, this is my option too ... to do something out of nothing. For most lenses I used ... plastic water pipes ... :-))
