And maybe so, but I have seem stuff over the years shot by so called professionals on top dollar equipment and at the same time, the same thing shot by an amateur on old, bandaged equipment which has been far superior to the shots by the professional...
It'd not about the cost of the cars, but the capability of the driver- well in this case cameras...lol.. and I know that you have the capability to shoot great stuff and it doesn't matter on what equipment...I've seen ti and I reckon that you could show those guys more than a thing or 2...
I agree, not everyone who considers himself a pro does his job at this level.
In fact, the equipment is secondary. An artist can use a hole in a beer can instead of a lens (pinhole) and shoot a masterpiece :)
My camera (Sony A7M2) allows you to take pictures of any quality and here the technical side of the issue is based rather on the choice of lens. How the photo will look depends on this choice.
But I still have a lot to learn and practice a lot ... which I enjoy doing :)

Love that analogy! bee can for a lens- that's the type of person that I always prefer to work with! I once worked with a guy on a show and although he was technically amazing with the camera, he couldn't see the best shots and it used to annoy the crap out of me.
Though when I look back on some I my footage, I cringe too, but I work by myself with 2-3 Sony cameras (Z7/NX5/A1P) and do all of the sound and lighting myself too so ofcourse I'm going to miss things...and I would prefer to work with a couple f others, but they have to be ready to jump in and be creative with the technology- I love gaff tape, gorilla grips, clamps and rubber bands! 🤣
Just having a look at your camera now...how many lenses do you have???
... sometimes it happens that a person buys professional equipment, undergoes special training and begins to shoot dull standard footage. Before that, he was an amateur and took interesting live photographs.
It turned out to be all about training. He accepted the general rules of the game and began to strive for "correct" photographs. At a time when creativity is just going beyond the established boundaries (within reasonable limits, of course).
Two or three more are missing here. :)) I made more than half myself in search of different artistic effects. Now I actually only use three old manual lenses. But I know that if I need something special, I can always choose.
You have a rich arsenal, these are great opportunities for creativity. I used to shoot a little video and even made some videos :)) But photography absorbs me more and more. Even my son, who was mainly involved in music and organized a laser show, started looking in the direction of the photo. I gave him my old Sony A57. Although he is more interested in video filming.
Yes, this is my option too ... to do something out of nothing. For most lenses I used ... plastic water pipes ... :-))
