phones are getting better and better in faking it in software, but we are still at the point where you can only fit as much as you can on those small size sensors and lenses.
i never went with buying an expensive phone, with something new and high quality you could maybe fake it with some fiddling of manual settings.

I do expect camera manufacturers to start implementing some software from phones into the cameras because if they don't they could suffer the fait of some of those that thought digital will never catch on and film will be forever :D

I have the Xiaomi t11 pro that should have a really good camera. Can you tell me what that effect is called? I would like to play around with it if there is some apps that can do it.

just looked at the specs, no portrait camera so probably go with the main (not the wide one) and if you can set the f-stop (aperture) to the lowest number you can. test it out. closer you get to the subject more blur you will get on the background. then there is probably an option to blur it more (most phones do it in a portrait mode chosen in the options)

you could probably do a lot with your macro camera for small objects.

I found a motion blur option and tried to take a picture close up. I am starting to get the effect that I want. Not a great picture but I think it shows it can work although in a limited capacity on a phone.
