I am eager to find a nice Scots pine here to turn into a Bonsai. We have some nice maples and an Acer I could try taking cuttings from.

Yes, the process to get roots going before your cuttings is pretty cool. You can get a full grown bonsai that way without having to worry. Acer Palmatum has always been one of my favs!
