Setting your white balance before taking your shots can save you the hassle of worrying too much about colours when editing.
Just find a white card or reference white balance card to set it.
It's easy once you try it.
There are so many things that can affect colour right from the point of taking pictures, up to post processing.
Another thing to consider is the screen factor. Different screens render colour differently, and if your screen is not calibrated well, it might appear different when compared to what you actually photographed.
And that's why your white balance is important.
