as if a hike needs anything to make it more awesome than it already is.

And yet, it did.

I like how the gum trees' florals have no petals and are so very distinct. The way you photographed them shows off each individual stamen, fluffy and seemingly appearing wild and free. In fact, they are, aren't they? I find it cool that they have a cap, which they pop off, just in time to make a nice show.

Well done, Mother Nature. She really does it best.

Your mad skilz are always showing off. :) A pot of a different flower. You are unique - no doubt about it. Gorgeous Gum.

It's a pretty cool looking flower right? Also, how it breaks out of that little gum nut is awesome. To be honest, I've never looked at one so close, taken it for granted I guess, but seeing that but split apart, the way the flower is all packed in there, is kind of cool. Macro photography is great huh? Oh, mother nature too.

I'm pretty happy with these shots. Mother nature and my camera combine to put on a decent show.
