RE: How to set up a DSLR Camera Trap in the Field.

in Photography Lovers2 years ago

Hi Dawn

Wow that first photo is freaking awesome! I would love to do this but don't have all the equipment for it (yet), you got such lovely shots and this is a nicely detailed post on how to set it up. You've inspired me to make it happen. I just recently got a remote shutter release and I've tested it out, I'm quite happy with it and maybe if I sat a little way away I could use that for now.

I'll be waiting to see that Pine Martin, I think they are wonderful animals. Powerful for their size and super inquisitive so your setup will be sure to bring one sniffing.

Thanks for the kind words and I wish you well on your new project. For the remote shutter release it is good just to observe first so you know where to set-up you camera. Then when you notice a pattern of where the animal or birds like to be, you can set it up there. I got these photos using a similar process. My dad had seen something around his bird feeder but didn't know what it was so I set-up a remote trigger through my computer and got this

It was a wood mouse

Oh my word Dawn that is the cutest little mouse face ever! I like this idea, I am very keen to give it a go but I'd have to stake out a place that gets frequented regularly and that might take me some time to narrow down. I also want a wood mouse!

Good Luck
