Europe is small, and Italy is just like six miles from this waterfall :))
You can take like a week in Italy, travelling across like four cities of your preference, and then continue to the north - Austria, Czechia (let me know when you get to Prague!), Germany, Denmark... And then a bit west to France or the Benelux. Oh, what a trip :))
I've met many fresh graduates from the EU taking a trip across Europe within 1-2 gap months before they start working full time, and it seems quite doable. They often were backpacers, though. Not much comfort, many experience :)) Still, a month trip can span from the south of Spain to Scandinavia and then back to the Balcans, quite all right to get a true European insight.
Wow, that is really impressive. I'm so used to how far away everything is here in the states, so it doesn't seem possible. I guess the fact that Europe has a nice rail system probably helps. I wish we had one of those here.
We also have extremely affordable fligts - low costs can get as cheap as $10 per flight :) You only need to know how to book them, and travel off the peak season.
I've thought about doing one of those river cruises one day, but my wife really wants to go to Italy.

Haha, just six miles huh? Too crazy. I think we would have to take multiple trips to catch everything.
