Annecy Lake, France

in Photography Lovers2 years ago (edited)

While we drove from Geneva, Switzerland to French Alps, we decided to make a stop and have a short walk next to a lake in France called Annecy. Located in the Eastern part of France, it sits right on the border where the Alps begin. That means there are some gorgeous views to be seen around the lake.

Now I got to use my camera properly not taking some bad shots from a car window while we were driving.

Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy and mountain tops were inside the clouds so we didn't get a 100% view but it was enough. Oh, I missed being surrounded by mountains.

The path that led us to the lake.

On the other side of the lake where we also drove through is Annecy city. This is basically where the Alps end and no big mountains from this point forward.

I was more fascinated by the mountainous side.

Some trees in France were already quite green, it was great to see it. Although most still were not.
There were some trees that have tree trunks full of leaves. It was a sight we don't see here in Estonia. I don't know if this is a separate plant that climbs on the tree trunks or do the trees really have leaves growing on the trunk. Maybe you know the answer to this. Photo below.

We started to make our way back to the car from another route. The sun came out and it truly felt like spring. OMG, it was so pleasant. 17 degrees C outside and we took off our jackets, being with T-shirts only. I can't wait when the spring arrives in Estonia already.

We were joking that we came for mountain skiing but maybe let's not leave this place and enjoy the warmness down here 😅.

Found some cows in the field.

The sky cleared up a bit and some gorgeous mountain views appeared. The alps are amazing!

I only have a couple of more locations from France, where I took pictures with my mirrorless. Bringing these to you soon!

Don't forget to participate in my monthly weather guessing game here and you might win 10 HIVE. The game is open until the 17th of April.

It's a separate plant called ivy. It is actually an invasive plant. It grows around trees but you can also see them on facades of houses. It grows like crazy and can cover the entire facade quickly.

I think that those clouds give character to photos. Of course they would look more perfect with blue sky, but they are more interesting with clouds. The part with mountains would be more interesting to me too 🙂

Great photos! I hope that you have enjoyed skiing 🙂

Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!

Thanks for the information! It does seem to climb like crazy. We do have climbing plants here in Estonia too but nothing like this. Ours will lose the leaves too in the winter, unlike those in France, it seems. Of course the winter is totally different too 😅.

Clouds often make things more interesting definitely, but if you really want to see that view then low clouds are a menace.

I enjoyed the skiing! Will make some posts on this soon too, thank you!
